It would be funny if Mizzou hired Matt Painter.

NewChief 04-17-2014 08:13 PM

So was Haith encouraged to seek employment elsewhere or what? Tulsa is obviously a move downward.

Next year's team was likely going to hover around .500, and when it did, he was going to get shitcanned. He left before he got canned and couldn't get another job.

He's a far savvier politician than he is a coach, evidenced by his recruiting and his ability to weasel himself into jobs before getting fired two times in a row.

Exactly right. And he was a major **** up by one of his players from getting canned immediately.

So he saved his head-coaching career, which never would have existed again had he been officially ousted in Columbia.

Haith cannot coach for shit, which the vast majority of us knew before he ever arrived, but he's not stupid.

Haith is the perfect avatar for the NCAA: a cuddly, soft-spoken teddy bear affecting a performance of compassion the surface, who is actually an incompetent, double-dealing, forked-tongued, four-flushing mother****er to the core.

What pisses me off is by hiring this clown in the first place Alden has made the fan base look like the bad guy, its a bunch of BS. The fans are not to blame for the shit product and player arrests.

Pepe Silvia 04-17-2014 09:18 PM

I got this from tigerboard. Supposedly this is how it all went down.

"Just talked to a fairly large booster"

"He says Haith met with Tulsa last week. He then came back this week and told ADMA that Tulsa was prepared to hire him and that he needed an extension or he was going to have to go. Apparently ADMA told Haith no on the extension and to do what he felt he needed to do. Thus, we're where we are today."

ROFL...that stupid ****. Trying to leverage the AD after that season. What's worse is what he did to his recruits. If he knew about this for that long, then why did he not tell Gant and Wright?

I'm thinking it'll take an improvement on the current #1 salary in college basketball for MIZZOU to get a coach with a good name.

Jerm 04-18-2014 10:30 AM

The POS sent a TEXT MESSAGE to Alden to say he was leaving...Jesus Christ.

Good frickin riddance...
