Still can't believe we dropped the ball on this. The guy deserves to get paid.

Dion Jordan? Luke Joeckel? Ansah and Richardson who were never projected to go as high as #1 have turned out ok from that draft class, but they too have their warts. Fisher had a rough start to the career, but he is getting better and is starting to show he merited the 1st overall pick.

But I suppose you think we can find a more cost effective starting LT in free agency? Or how about the draft, so we start over again and remain one of the youngest O-line units league-wide that just keeps churning personnel?

If Fisher shows the consistency of play in 2016-17 that he did over his last 12 or so games, he will get paid by the Chiefs, and likely a decent, but not absurd amount.

Also, our OL woes settled nicely when Fisher went to LT last year. They don't call that the anchor position for nothing. I'd sure hate to see us endure all the growing pains with Fisher and then let him go just when he figures it out.

He already got paid when he was drafted.

$12 million per on a safety is ****ing stupid.

mcaj22 07-16-2016 09:41 AM

which is the craziest part

if he wants to be paid more per year than what he is already tagged at for 2016 (which is the highest paid safety in the league for next season) then he wants to be paid even more than the second highest paid safety?

I just don't get it, I understand guys gotta make their money but when you already are the highest paid player at the position how can you go up even more? There is nobody left for him to beat. He wants a raise against himself.

I don't know what more the Chiefs can do, he's already been paid literally top dollar for the position.

DaneMcCloud 07-16-2016 09:45 AM

He's the #2 paid safety in the NFL.

He got paid.

Bowser 07-16-2016 10:01 AM

Enjoy this year with Berry, guys. It's likely his last here.

What's ****ing stupid is paying $4.5 million on a ****ing PUNTER and $2.7 million on a slow ILB.

Sounds like Dorsey wants to get a deal done after the season. We'll see.

and 9 million on a RB coming off acl surgery when there's two capable young starters behind him.

Who gives a shit about the draft from eleventy billion years ago? It's come and gone. And, you got a turd. But hey, keep that turd around and pay him some grip while letting Poe and Berry walk. You know, because your franchise is sadly reeruned.

Fisher should be paid in cans of tuna and warm thoughts.

But I know, I know; "he's really coming around"!

Agree with you, Run, on the punter, but not so much about the slow ILB. Maybe I'm seeing in wrong, but I think Mauga is a decent, assignment-sound ILB and makes a good complement to DJ. Plus, I wouldn't think that 2.7M is outlandish for a starting NFL ILB.

He is only going to make a little over $5M this season, but it goes back up to $7M next season, 2017. If he doesn't have a really good season he could be released or traded as well to create more space that will be needed.

Right. We should invest big dollars in brokedicks like Clady and Branden Albert instead.

Next you will be crying about the organization drafting fatty's early and then when the line play is subpar you will ignore it and dump your smelly shit all over Alex Smith as you have for time immemorial around here. It is easy to hedge taking a position like yours because at any sign or sight of underachievement you will shit all over the franchise. Your schtick is old and tired regardless of what username you choose to disguise it under. You and Clay can start your own website and forum and you can enjoy each other's company: cherry pick when you can, and then be perpetually negative any other time it suits you just so you can sound right. Hindsight is always 20/20 jackass.
