Won't make a dime's worth of difference.

The only difference maker now is conservation and alternatives. We use 25% of the world's oil - until that number changes we should expect very high gas prices.

These rising prices are creeping death to my wallet :(

Question...are the Chinese and India squealing like us over gas prices? I mean, they are paying for it at the pump as well...

how many 6 dollar bushels of corn does it take to make a gallon of usable ethanol. :hmmm:

Seriously, what is the ratio of bushels of corn to gallons of ethanol?

Bowser 05-13-2008 12:06 PM

When I went inside a QT earlier, the price was 3.54. When I left, it was 3.64.

I don't know the answer to that, but I have to wonder about their logic in becoming as oil dependent as we are. One would think they'd learn from us and find a different road to go down.

I don't see ethanol being sold in my area. What's the current price for a gallon of E85?

InChiefsHeaven 05-13-2008 01:53 PM

Perhaps this is now an idea who's time has finally come:

http://www.mindfully.org/Energy/2003...-Oil1may03.htm

I saw this a couple of years ago, and I keep wondering what the hell the problem is with getting this on-line...

...anyone live in Carthage MO? Seems they have one of these plants up and running. Why can't we have one of these at every damn landfill in the country!! Kill two birds with one stone, stop wasting so much, recycle, and get out of dependence on foreign oil...

Which is ~$4.37 per gallon when compared to using gasoline.

Donger 05-19-2008 08:03 AM

$3.79 national average.

Frazod 05-19-2008 08:08 AM

According to WBBM radio, Chicago now has the highest gas prices in the nation. There are stations downtown charging over $4.50 for regular unleaded. :shake:
