Kila's line last year, adjusted using major league equivalency ratios:

.210| 13 HR| 44 RBI | .324 OBP | .348 SLG | 63 R

So he gets on base as much as Mark Teahen with those #'s. And then he has upside. And that is worst case scenario. I don't think those #'s are going to be as accurate to a guy that has the ability to walk. They would probably be most accurate to a guy that hacks at all sorts of crap.

Upside?

Dude has slider bat speed and minimal power. He's a .250/17 guy in the
minors with the exception of ONE season. He's jack cust
minus the power.

What do you think his upside is?

Royals!

I like kilas thinking that he wants to wait for the perfect pitch to mash, thats why he takes so many walks.

I still hope he can improve his #'s this year in the minors.

For those that didn't see the thread, I set up a fantasy baseball league for CP. I'd love to have the regulars (tk, RJ, etc.), but new blood is also welcome.

CP Fantasy Baseball league

Luis Mendoza-R-Royals Apr. 2 - 4:38 pm et

Royals acquired RHP Luis Mendoza from the Rangers for a player to be named later or cash considerations.
Mendoza, 26, had a 4.50 ERA and 6/4 K/BB ratio over 14 innings this spring in Rangers camp, but they have a full and talented bullpen heading into the 2010 season. Mendoza could climb his way onto Kansas City's 25-man roster rather soon as a middle reliever.

Royals Gordon, Fields likely on DL

Similar ERA last year in AAA. In 08 when up with the big club it was over 8. He'll shuttle back and forth between KC and Omaha till he's run his course.

Good lord Alexis Gordon is the biggest bust ever for the Royals...

I think Colt was a bigger bust. At least Gordon has spent more time in the majors. JMO.

He had 37 homers in the minors in 2008. You can't just pretend that season never happened.

Yeah, the roids he was on that year did their job.

No telling if it was just a career year (my personal thought), or if he was using something... but there was no indication in his career before then KK had that kind of power (it was a 75 percent increase over his previous career high). And he didn't show any semblance of that sort of power last season.

The 37 home runs were a fluke. He'll never do that again.

Though, as a Royals fan, being proved wrong wouldn't be so bad...

Sure i can. Because nobody cares about the minor leagues. Hence the name: Minor leagues.
