I don't think it matters much how this team fares.

There are so many posters here that it's inevitable that some are not going to like each other.

Try 10 of them, at least half of which would have motherf*** in the title.

I was not as clear as I could have been. I didn't mean to quantify how much better of an opportunity one round can be vs another round. I was merely saying that the 7th round, like the 1st or 2nd et al, is an opportunity by which teams can and do improve themselves.

Got it wrong? How? O'Connell is one of the worst players in the entire NFL. Are you saying Hamas is wrong because Jake has made the roster? That's curious logic. I guess people are wrong about Cassel because, hey, he's on the roster. He must be good! Mike Brown wasn't terrible last year - he was starting! All starters are inherently good!

I never said it was a bold statement, nor was I taking up a cause, you're just butthurt and are looking for a reason to bitch about me.

When I've started an inverse-Scanlon campaign against O'Connell, let me know. That said, he's one of the worst players I've ever seen suit up for the Chiefs.

Jake Oconnel does suck bad, but so do AT LEAST 90% of all 7th rounders. At least he had the size/speed combination to be a half way decent gamble that late in the draft.

Succop

Most teams dont have two 7th rounders that have contributed as much as those two have to our team in recent years. Thats two out of the last 5 years that have been valuable NFL players.

Cant win em all.

...

That said, **** Jake Oconnel with a rusty fork

link to what exactly? His 40 time?

The fact he is 6'3 250 and ran a good 40 time for that size:

...O'Connell ran the 40-yard dash in 4.66 and 4.69 seconds and posted a 41-inch vertical jump.

Thats a decent size/speed combo for a 7th rounder.

Thanks for playing.

now, where is that rusty fork...

You can't compare Cassel or Brown to O'Connel. Pioli has nothing invested in Jake. He could have cut him, and it wouldn't have been looked at as a huge waste. You are smarter than this. He earned his way onto the roster. Twice.

You've got about a 90% chance of randomly picking a 7th rounder to be cut, and the guy still made the team. Twice. If you predicted that Dennis Kucinich would not be the 2012 Republican nominee for President, I'd probably shit my pants.

No, a link to the claims that "at least 90% of 7th rounders suck bad" and "most teams don't have two 7th rounders who have contributed to the Chiefs as much as [Page and Succop]."
