There's no reason to have another shitty QB like Cassel on this roster and we certainly aren't going to win more than a game or 2 this year with or without him. He won't play here next year anyways so there's no point in signing him if we do finally draft a QB in the 1st round next year.

If they brought him in, I think it'd be too early to make that call. If you did bring him here, it'd be with the intent to evaluate him vs Cassell. Give him a month and a half and then make a decision. You don't predetermine jack squat.

If he decides he doesn't want to come here we just place him on the reserved\left squad list and we own his rights until we decide he comes off that list. Like what TB did to Plummer

link?

Plummer was traded, not sure if there is a difference there or not.

Plummer also had more than 6 weeks left on his contract, IIRC.

Why would we need to extend him? All I am saying is that maybe the Bears think they have a legit shot at the SB this year and need a QB so they might be willing to offer a draft pick in exchange for his services.

Because the trade deadline has passed?

kcxiv 11-23-2011 02:36 PM

We will see Stanzi by halftime of the Pitt game. When Pitt brings the pressure and Palko misses everything but -2 yard wr passes, Haley will have no choice.

We WILL see Stanzi this year and for more then a few games imo. Stanzi is the ONLY card left Haley has to play to save his job. Unless he doesnt want to coach in KC anymore lol

pr_capone 11-23-2011 02:36 PM

I, for one, would welcome neckbeard in KC. Anything resembling an actual NFL QB would be a welcome addition to this team.

/show Stanzi the ropes?

My bad they were going to place him on that list if he failed to join but he retired instead which nullified the trade. So I guess the Donkeys still own his rights.

The trade deadline past a long time ago.

Week 6 IIRC.

If we want to trade him, we would have to claim him, re-sign him (to a tradeable contract that he agrees to) and then find a suitor NEXT YEAR.

My palm is firmly planted on my face right now.

#Chiefs Todd Haley does not answer if the team put in a claim on Kyle Orton "anything internally, personnel moves, things like that you know I have to keep in confidence of our walls"
