Jets and Jaguars have asked permission from San Francisco to interview 49ers director of player personnel Tom Gamble for their GM jobs.

But we have to wait until we hire a HC.

Makes sense.

Sad that it's come to this.

You're happy with basically anyone as long as Pioli is gone. That's a recipe for the last 4 years to happen all over again.

Bad girlfriend, indeed.

Actually no, I am happy period, even if he is retained.

My happiness or pack thereof no longer depends on the Chiefs.

I'll get there eventually, but I'm not looking forward to giving up 33 years of fandom.

Not looking like I'm going to have much of a choice though.

Face it, we are keeping Pioli. All the good ones will already be gone by the time we get a HC. Hiring the HC without firing the GM is beyond stupid. Kind of like Pioli picking the QB before getting a HC. STUPID

the Talking Can 12-31-2012 12:36 PM

hunt will just happen to hire a coach that is ok with pioli...

this is his 'see how smart i am' way of placating fans and keeping his brah...

Clark announcing that he would ensure separation between the football/non-football operations after Carl Peterson "resigned", and then allowed Fat Scott to go on a power tear in the organization and influence the termination of several non-football operations staff members (i.e. Denny Thum)... FAIL.

All the reported chaos and low morale within the Chiefs organization, as reported in the Arrowhead Anxiety article earlier this January... Clark is the CEO of the organization... FAIL.

The Chiefs record since the 2007 season (the first full season after Lamar Hunt's death): 29-68, 0-1 in the playoffs... FAIL.

Defend Clark's record.

Seriously defend his record.

I dare you.

Go for it.

So he didn't fire Carl the moment old man Hunt ceased to breath, big deal. He still did it when many thought CP just might be here for life. I actually give him credit for the move instead of nit picking over waiting 1 year after taking full responsibility before pulling the trigger.

To date there is only one thing I can really knock Clark on and even then I cannot knock him too hard. The Hunt family has more than just an NFL franchise to run. And any good leader brings in quality people underneath them to help run things. Clark made what the majority of the league and fans thought was an excellent hire when he brought Pioli in. He gave him the keys to the place and told him to run it. All of these other issues you listed happened under Pioli's watch. Clark's attention is understandably divided amongst all of the family business. So things fall between the cracks when it turns out you hired a bad manager.

Clark not being more involved is my only issue. Then again I do not want him too involved. I don't want a Jerry Jones type who thinks he knows more than he really does. So I don't get too caught up in that.

Now if he retains Pioli, which I do not believe he will, then my opinion changes drastically.

@ArrowheadPride The Chiefs could do a lot worse than Whisenhunt, if you ask me. I think the guy is a hell of a coach hamstrung by a bad org.

In other words, he is trying to find his foot shuffling porter?

Did Wisenhunt draft Leinart? or was that Denny?

Lamar Hunt died December 2006 and Dictator Carl didn't "resign" until December 2008.

Clark gave Dictator Carl another year even AFTER the trainwreck that was the 2007 season which included a 4-12 record.

he's trying to replace his foot shuffling porter....from crennel to ?

Some people are saying that Hunt stated that the next HC will determine Pioli's fate...

I don't see that in his statement. Is there another release that I'm missing, because from the above I have no reason to believe that Pioli won't have his fat fingers all over the coaching search.

I'd be fine with it.

But the question becomes is KC a better organization than the Cardinals are at this time?
