the origin of tikka is uncertain, I'm thinking an unexpected place like Peru or maybe even Hungary.

It's pretty strongly rooted in the Indian flavor palate.

Tonight is pure Americana... meatloaf, 2 pounds of burger, an abundance of onion and green pepper, cracker crumbs, minced garlic, salt/pepper, 3 eggs to keep the moisture in the large amount of veggies from derailing things, bacon on top under a mix of ketchup and brown sugar.

Side dishes - homemade scalloped potatoes with a mix of American and shredded taco cheese mix, and green beans with a healthy dose of bacon and onions.

I will go to bed fat and happy tonight for sure, with plenty of leftovers for later... but first, gotta get rid of the last of this vodkee.

yeah definitely from a coloring perspective as well, anyhow - how was it? I just did a pittsburg style sirloin (which was a nice change) - and I flashed some veggies, nothing exciting.

Great. The tikka masala we've added as a weekend option. We don't make it a lot because it takes awhile to make, but maybe every couple of months.

The naan was a first... it turned out well. I wouldn't change the recipe, but next time I'd do it on the grill. On the cast iron, between the high heat, oil, and occasional butter, it smoked up the house quite a bit.

Yeah, I can get it at Publix here, but homemade is different.

wow good job.

You've really come a long ways. I'm glad you find such love in cooking. Unfortunately I don't cook good stuff much anymore - I do as good as I can w/ my new requirements. I've been easing off of the carbs and am virtually sugar free, these days.

However your food always looks dynamite. Not to mention I'm a fairly tough critic as well.

Wife is in the hospital with a severe flare up of her Crohn's disease. She has been out on a clear diet, so to show solidarity I had jello and a bowl of broth for dinner. I'd kill myself if I had to eat like that all the time.

Sorry to hear that.
