That's an expensive tab for a couple of prank phone calls.

Bet junior is gonna hear about that one for a while from pops.

Yeah - hard to get too riled up about that one.

The financial penalties on a team are usually appropriate when you have a sort of 'vicarious liability' situation. The team didn't technically do anything wrong -- but he was their employee and it was information they provided to him. So they have to eat a little bit of shit.

And honestly, if that's the extent of the blowback Ulbrich gets for it, he should consider himself lucky. There's still a non-zero chance he gets fired for it.

Sure, it was his idiot son. But man, if I had the names/numbers of a bunch of player agents (ESPECIALLY if I had teenage children) you'd bet your ass I'd keep that stuff under lock and key.

(was still funny, though. And to all those weeping over poor Shadeur, that's the exact kind of crap that clout-chasing asswipe would pull on someone else if he had a chance)

Just read somewhere that the Giants would have considered Shedeur if Dart was gone...

These days it's pretty standard security practice for most companies to have devices lock after a few minutes, periodic passcode changes, etc. My personal iPhone I have to have a PIN whether I want it or not. Only required, of course, if I am connecting to our company email/Teams from my phone. But I'd be hampered in my ability to stay connected if I declined to do this.

You must not have read what their head coach thought about the kid's interview.

ThaVirus 04-30-2025 10:24 AM

Not sure what I’d do if my dipshit kid cost me $100k.

There goes your tuition, bud. And your car. And any birthday and Christmas gifts you thought you’d be getting.

Google says Ulbrich’s contract is for $1.6m so not the end of the world but still..

to be clear I don't think the NFL cares about the prank. It's the data leak that's the big no no. The fact that this kid had multiple numbers and god knows what else and then put it on the ****ing internet is King Dipshit level. It wasn't enough to lose your minds laughing at a prank at a dummy age. I can see myself and my idiot friends when I was 20 doing some stupid shit like that. But the streaming of it is where I can't fathom it

Post-tax, no less.

In his tax bracket, that's a $140K kick to the juevos. It's damn near 10% of his earnings.

I've always kinda wondered though if those fines are donated to charity (as is the rumor) do they end up being tax deductible?

Gochiefs ran a 3.6 40 when tickets for the newer, woke Oklahoma went on sale a few years back.
