Lou will likely be the fall guy, but this is absolutely on the front office.

The amount of talent they've let leave with no return is completely asinine. Operating as a skin flint organization may have already completely slammed their window shut, which is insane to think about.

Look at our defense. With the injuries, we've taken a step back recently. Best coach in the world has to have talent to work with. Before they gutted their defense to resign the offense players, they were a top defense. That defense almost won them a superbowl...he's a good coach and I don't want them to fire him and he ends up on a team that just needs a defensive boost to be contenders.

I get it, the defense lost several key players.

But here's the thing: really good coaches adapt/overcome. And DCs have to find their identity, just like OCs. Stop the run or rush the passer or whatever. Find something your unit can do. Anarumo didn't do that. And in spite of his reputation, his unit is trending down, not up.

Hell, they aren't even treading water. They're sinking like the Titanic. By the end of next week they'll probably be giving up an average of 36+ pts/gm, a TD worse than the former worst defense in the league, CAR at 30pts/gm.

Even Bowles' defense is trending back up. Albeit incrementally, but they're giving up almost a FG less than they were 4 or so weeks ago. And they were so thin at CB that they couldn't even run dime until 3 weeks ago, and they still have a PS LB starting for them, I think.

Anarumo may call a good game and have a nice scheme, but he isn't showing that he can adapt when he doesn't have the best players, which reminds me of Sutton.

Maybe I'm just wrong. Wouldn't be the first time. But that's just how it feels to me. Ymmv.

I read somewhere that Cincy still has a team. Can anyone confirm?

Remember when I compared the Burrow Bengals to the 80s Giants because they stumped the Niners a few times LMAO

They're more like...the Jim Everett Rams LMAO

Congrats on beating the dynasty a couple times and getting no rings!

Figured it'd be damn near impossible to not even make the playoffs with MVP candidate caliber QB play but here we are. How in the **** did they manage to slam the window shut on themselves so quickly?

They kept the wrong players and let the correct players walk. They would have been better off trading Tee and resigning Reader and Bates.

So happy they miss the playoffs and made poor decisions. I love it.

I’m not surprised. It happened to Brees and Rodgers more than a few times and they were Hall of Famers.

They'll never do it but.....they should entertain trading Chase.

I bet they'd get more than we got for Tyreek.
