RBIs are such a hilarious stat to me ... Morales is hitting behind three guys with .800+ OPS (Cain around .900). He constantly hits with men on base. Again, I really like KM and he's been a great upgrade to Billy (who was one of the least valuable players in the AL last year), but yes, many on this board have overrated his season as our DH

bsroyals says you suck and Morales is our MVP because he is!

Simple pendulum swing from the Billy hate. Nothing more.

Totally. Sometimes people overreact to my comments, as well. Kendrys has been a good move and a nice contract. Love the guy.

More importantly, nice value relative to what he's making. Many around here flipped when we signed him for 2/$17M, but he's been worth that given our options in the off-season.

I was right there. Didn't really see a need for him going off of his last couple brutal seasons. Thought it was just going from Billy Butler to a shittier Billy Butler myself. Once again, as always, I am glad to be wrong :D

I wasn't excited about it either, but I was already in the mode of giving GMDM quite a bit of leash coming off the World Series. Between Kendrys, Chris Young and Ryan Madson, he's been Midas as far as I'm concerned.

I wish the double steal would've failed tonight. We are going to fail at it at a critical point sometime in the future.

You want to see relative value, check out Colon. Surplus.

I think Dyson just got picked off, then it was a run down with an opportunistic Rios.

Burnett balked on the pickoff & Rusty alerted the ump about it & they called it the next time Dyson was on first.

Nervous Detroit Tigers fans will soon have their answer as to whether or not the team will sell its assets at the July 31 trade deadline.

According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the Tigers will be sellers at the deadline, reaching out to other teams across the league to see what they can net for ace starting pitcher David Price and outfielder Yoenis Cespedes.

“The Tigers, according to several people inside and outside the organization familiar with their strategy, plan to put ace David Price and power-hitting outfielder Yoenis Cespedes on the trade market.

Yet, when contacted Monday, Tigers president and general manager Dave Dombrowski told USA TODAY Sports that no decision had been finalized.”

After a 5-4 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Monday night, the Tigers (46-46) still struggle to stay around .500, good enough for 10 games back of the Kansas City Royals in the AL Central Division and four games behind the second Wild Card seed.

Nearing the end of their contracts, there has been debate over what the Tigers could get in return for Price and Cespedes in trades this late in the season. The Tigers acquired Price at the trade deadline in 2014 in exchange for Austin Jackson and Drew Smyly.

Cespedes came to Detroit along with pitcher Alex Wilson during the MLB Winter Meetings from the Boston Red Sox in exchange for pitcher Rick Porcello. Cespedes was traded from the Oakland Athletics to the Red Sox at last year’s trade deadline.

Doesn't make any sense to do it this year but I've always said Ventura is a closer, not a starter
