Shitty thing about that is players have to sign the contract and if they refuse too then you can't really make them.

Crawford was someone whom I kicked around, and I felt justified when Rany devoted an update to making the case. Yes, everyone realizes this was never going to happen.

Also, I still think it was a mistake not to land Dunn about 4 years ago (or whenever it was that he signed with the Nats) and keep him in blue.

That said, I'm not terribly upset about the lack of FA activity. Right now, it doesn't make a great deal of sense. Now, the deals DM made were dumb as ****, as usual for him, but at least they were almost all 1-year deals with little to no risk or implication. Thus, I didn't really care about those, either.

Jim Thome.. Like ZG was, it would have been nice to lure him away from his home team.

Agreed I liked Crawford and Dunn a lot. I have not always agreed with DM's signings in the past, for example why trade nunez for Jacobs when you have Butler/Kila/Hosmer in the pipeline. This offseason however he has basically made a number of zero risk acquisition with some upside, be it moving guys at the deadline for prospects or a possible breakout season from the Outfielders.

I was hoping you were joking... But you're right, Jim sux the root... Ask our pitchers, they know...

What position should he play?

This was probably DM's best offseason since coming to KC. Of course, this is all predicated on the Greinke deal not completely blowing up in our faces, so we need to see how Escobar performs. There's an outside chance that this deal might have been outstanding for us, and this is coming from someone who was far from a fan of the return.

But I can certainly see the logic behind it.

DH and 1B as needed/if needed. He'd have been here to be a veteran. You said name a person, I did. How many games did we drop due to not having an offense? Yeah, he'd be a nice bat to have in the lineup...

yeah we don't have a ridiculous logjam at first base with Kila/Butler/Hosmer. We need an 80 year old clogging up that progress. I really thought you would come with something better than that.

Kila! Hosmer! LOL. I thought you'd come up with somthing better than THAT... But I also said DH... Nice to have Butler and Jim placed in the right parts of the lineup. We might score a few runs! Ask ZG about run support...

GloryDayz, you aren't actually helping your argument by saying things like this...it makes you seem out of touch with reality.

Are you saying he sux, or he's spilled milk? I think it's relevant and speaks to the real problem the team has, good players don't want to play for these guys.

Do you honestly think signing Thome, Damon & Ramirez or other over the hill bum would have convinced Zack to stay with the Royals?

Surely you jest?

Kila is a promising prospect and Hosmer is top 20 in the league.

So you would rather cut Kila (he is out of options) and play Thome/Butler instead of Kila/Butler. Not to mention we might see Hosmer at the end of the year.

You must know absolutely nothing about baseball/the royals. You continue to make yourself look stupid to anyone who has any idea what is going on.
