Turner said he is going to announce his decision after the Jordan brand classic (which is April 18)

That makes it sound like Turner is a done deal for KU.

Kansas Jayhawks Are Favorites to Land Myles Turner After Joel Embiid Declares for NBA
Quote:

College basketball recruiting is all about speculation these days. Trying to guess where the top high school basketball recruits will land every year is tough and they usually surprise us with the pick, but in my opinion, Myles Turner is likely headed to play for Bill Self and the Kansas Jayhawks in 2014-15.
Why do I believe that it’s nearly a lock that Turner will be headed to Kansas? Well, the five-star recruit no longer has to worry about battling for playing time as this year’s center, Joel Embiid, declared for the NBA draft on Wednesday afternoon.
You might be saying, ‘But what about Cliff Alexander?’, which is a fair question. And to answer that question, I have to say, what about him?
Alexander could play center on many college basketball teams, but he’s being recruited to Kansas as a power forward and the highly-touted big man has been trying to convince the Euless, Texas, native to play for the Jayhawks with him.
Turner could fill the void that was left by Embiid perfectly. Just how close in body type are Embiid and Turner? Embiid is about 7-foot-0 and weighs roughly 250 pounds while Turner is 7-foot-0 and weighs approximately 240 pounds.
Oh yeah, and both were ranked as the No. 2 center in their respective classes, but Turner is grading out a bit higher as an overall player.
If Turner wants the best chance to win a national title as well as play lengthy minutes, Kansas is the way to go. The Jayhawks can thank Embiid for going to the draft and opening up the likelihood of landing Turner.
If he doesn’t head to Kansas, I’d be shocked.

Yeah, landing Turner would be absolutely enormous.

What would that give us, the #2, 3 and 10 recruits or something like that?

I’m sure it has changed since I last saw, but I saw it as #2 (Turner), #4 (Alexander), and #12 (Oubre).

Last year was what? #1 (Wiggins), #6 (Embiid), and #12 (Selden)?

Self and Howard are meeting with the #1 player in the class of 15 right as we speak in his home (Malik Newman).

Myles Turner set to announce April 30th according to Paul Biancardi.

Tharpe was not at the KU Banquet last night. Apparently, he was home for a funeral.

However, Self talked up Frankamp a ton, saying (WHAT SOME OF US HAVE TRIED TO GET THROUGH TO PEOPLE HERE) that he excels with the ball in his hands, and is better at creating offense off the dribble than he is a spot-up shooter.

Conner is going to be the PG moving forward.

period.

Also, AW3 squashed any rumors of him transferring.

As it stands does KU have any available schollies?

Read that on Twitter too.

But, the kids has nearly two weeks. His mind will probably change often.

Self is looking awfully hard for PG's this offseason to just assume that Frankamp will be the PG going forward.

If he chooses Texas he's getting bad advice. Unless he wants to play for his home team which is cool. But if he chooses there I hope enjoys second place.

I could still see it happening. If Self wants him gone, he will be gone.

But that is surprising. Seems weird that we are recruiting 2 guys with only 1 scholarship available, and the most likely transfer candidate says he is staying put.

Between that and Self suddenly talking up Mickelson, I’m starting to think he doesn’t expect to land Turner :hmmm:
