I don't think those offense were very similar to the ones we see now.

2006 Gators scored 29 ppg. That was second that season but it would be 10th this season.

In 2008 they had 43 ppg but were 11 ppg better than the second team. This season that is good for second but there is 6 other teams within that 11 ppg of that number.

In 2006 8 teams gave up less than 20 ppg. In 2008 6 teams did it. In 2013 only one team did it. In 2006 and 2008 the two teams who finished 1,2 in points allowed played in the SEC championships. Obviously Florida was part of each game in 2006 and 2008 and were really winning on defense and offense, whereas now its becoming about just offense. In 2013 the teams in the championship finished 6th and 8th in points allowed. But were 2nd and 3rd in points scored.

It is pretty clear the conference is changing to offensive oriented like most of the rest if the country as well.

sorry I can't stand this Winston guy, something about him is very irritating.

I feel a bit bad that I can't be happy for his athletic successes because of the ineptitude of the Tallahassee PD.

That article is a bit disingenuous. The dregs of the sec suck but their top half is so clearly superior to other conf it's not funny. It is embarrassing to cheerlead conference pride for fellow schools sure, but it's equally dumb to deny their top is stout.

he will never live up to Bo Jackson - which is how the network pimped him prior and during the game, IIRC. Give me a break.

Holy tuck. Well a shitty injury plagued OU team kicked the shit out of the second place team and that tells you the conference deserves two already LMAO. I think ill just wait until the games are played before lobbying for who should be in the final four. Im just a fan of objectivity for some reason.

Oklahoma has a good football team. One of the youngest in the b12 this year, the youngest of Trevor is starting.

The playoff system will be a good thing, however I believe it should be 6 to 8 teams. This year shows that the sec can be beat. I think it will start happening more often, as I am curious to see how Saban does without AJ..

If Oklahoma can come out of nowhere with Trevor Knight burning down villages, then Alabama could do the same with Alec Morris or Cooper Bateman.

I'm an OU fan and I thought it was a pretty lackluster team. Knight had just a handful of starts before the bowl game. IMO it was in no way shape or form a good team by OU standards. Maybe next year, but this team over achieved to only have 2 losses.

It feels like OU didn't even know what offense it wanted to run this year. Clearly, Knight took some leaps forward during the last month of practice. If Stoops can coach as fearlessly as he did in the Sugar Bowl then next year's OU team can make lots of noise.

Glad I'm not the only one who dislikes Winston.

McCarrons mom goes full racist. Can we get a viewing of The Blindside for these dirt bag Alabama moms so they know how a lady should act?

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaaf-...13--ncaaf.html

AJ McCarron’s mom, Dee Dee Bonner, made it no secret she was rooting for Auburn in Monday night’s BCS National Championship and she had some not-so-kind words for Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston as he delivered his postgame speech.

Winston, the Heisman Trophy winner, was named the game’s offensive MVP and answered a few questions for the television cameras and the crowd.

"I said guys, we didn't come here for no reason,” Winston said. “I said, 'Guys, this is ours, man.' All the adversity we went through the first few quarters, it was ours to take. And like I've been saying, we control our own destiny, And those men looked me in my eye and said 'We got this Jameis.' I said, 'Are you strong?' They said, ‘I'm strong if you strong.’ I said, 'We strong then.'"

Winston went on to answer several questions and while the answers might not have been wholly articulate, they were absolutely in English.

Bonner tweeted an apology later in the evening, claiming her initial tweet was not meant to be racist.

He's not a great public speaker.
