We should move him down the order now. If he starts making errors like he did last year when we moved him down - just trade him or bench him.
But otoh he was pretty awesome in the post-season.

One of the reasons Escobar is a tough fit in the lead off spot is that he really only has one way to get on base - with a hit. When he slumps, it's a big zero.
Ideally, Mondesi forces his way to the majors no later than midseason 2017, so the Royals are comfortable/confident in letting Escobar walk.
I'd love to see Mondesi force his way into the 2B spot by August/September. He's off to a promising start at AA - average is low but has showed better plate discipline, walking at around a 10 percent clip, and good pop.
If he can force a promotion, I think it's a big upgrade defensively. His arm and range should be huge upgrades on Infante.
