Probably why he got so much... knew some would go away.

LMAO I didnt expect it either but he did kind of get mauled.

And really no shock whatsoever about Brock testing positive.

I somehow missed that news about Lesnar, but it figures, I've never seen him look so ripped

It was still an exciting fight, though

Hunt can complain with good reason about the test and other issues leading up to the fight, but he is presumably training for mma year round and had plenty of natural kryptonite for Lesnars biggest weakness... and couldnt make it work

But if he gets the extra money its justified, he is still a top 10 heavyweight

From what I read, he'll still keep his PPV points which who knows how much thats worth, but I imagine its a lot. So he may have gone into it knowing he wasn't going to keep much of the purse.

Mark Hunt changed his mind. He now wants Brock's entire purse.

If you have fightpass, EBI7 is tonight at 9pm.

Or if you can't watch submission tournaments and can only watch MMA, then some small promotion in Nebraska is on at 8pm, I guess.

The Bellator card is on tape delay and will not be live, so **** that card.

edit: the only interesting fighter on that card was Matt Mitrione in his debut. He KO'd his opponent in the 2nd round, so there, now you don't have to watch.

2nd round of the EBI7 tourney starting now.

After the first round of EBI7 they brought out their first super fight to give their fighters a chance to rest up for the 2nd round, and the first "super fight" was kind of a cool concept.

They brought out 2 13-year old girls as possible future prospects for MMA, both training for a few years in BJJ. The match took the full 10 minutes of regulation followed by roughly 3 minutes of overtime. They were fighting under a more restrictive ruleset where some of the more dangerous submissions were forbidden, and it went into overtime before one of the girls finally got a submission. The crowd understood what was going on, applauded every escape, and cheered the victory.

EBI7 final starting now

edit: and its over! Eddie Cummings, the leglock specialist, wins again in EBI7 and takes home $20k

"Cyborg" fractured skull from a knee.

It's terrible but hilarious to see the pics. He has a perfect knee imprint in his forehead

I don't know how to embed this, but this is a cool rarely-seen video of a referee talking to a fighter backstage before the fight. Marc Goddard was talking to Mitrione, basically giving him the "if this happens, I'm going to say this, and I need to see you do this or I'll stop the fight" speech, and they quickly get on the same page, swapping stories, etc.

The NSAC has officially suspended Jon Jones and his hearing will be in September or October.

He tested positive for 2 different estrogen blockers: clomiphene, and traces of letrozole.

He was coming off a cycle. The sample date just came up a bit too soon.

Crazy. Hed never tested positive before. Wonder if it was just a one time thing he gambled on due to the huge layoff from the prior suspension, or if he had used before but timed it better.

I think this is way more damaging to him than it is for Lesnar. With Lesnar you assumed he was no stranger to this sort of thing, and MMA wasnt going to be his legacy anyway, he has other outlets to fall back on, hes a modern day strongman/entertainer who can dabble in MMA due to his size and strength, but Jones really has dug himself a hole. UFC 200 was his chance to climb out of the hole he previously dug for himself.

People will say oh hell be back on top, and he might, but windows of dominance always close unexpectedly.
