What would you think of automated strike zones? The technology is there to do something like that, but it would completely change the way the game is played.

It needs to happen. The "human element" argument is bullshit. Guys like Glavine were, IMO, incredibly overrated because they were able to live six inches off the plate but get the call due to their reputation.
