I do like the fact that we get Ace in game 7 if it goes that far. I think I speak for all Royals fans when I say the idea of Cueto pitching game 7 today was absolutely terrifying.

Cant fault him for wanting out

Very glad Zack wanted out. He can come on back if he wants to take a nice pay cut to play for a real contender.

Absolutely not, because you can't let Cueto pitch in New York. He has an incredibly fragile psyche and he must be protected. The fans in New York would cause him to melt down in the first inning. At least in KC the fans will be cheering for him (at the start of the game anyway).

Dont think that has anything to do with anything. You are looking a short term results, and Cueto hasnt been good, but his psyche is just fine. Problem is he cant pitch right now anx is arguably our 4th beat SP right now.

Not sure how you can say that...he melted down in the WC game for Cincy a couple of years ago, and melted down again in Game 3 of the LCS.

Cueto has shown that he is fragile on the road.

You cant even conclusively say anything, based on on game. He has 500+ starts on the road where he hasnt melted down on the road. We are likely reading into this way too much.

Does anyone have the Price vs. Ventura pitch tracker maps from yesterday?

big nasty kcnut 10-24-2015 05:17 PM

Cueto should start the first game. I feel with the crowd behind him he would put on a masterpiece.

You want him 2nd so he can pitch twice potentially at home.

I'm really glad our opponent also has a huge ballpark. (Their outfield size is #3, ours is #2. Largest outfield is Colorado) It seems every series we've played in our opponent had this dumb small ballpark where home runs are easy, but in Citi Field and in Kauffman Stadium you gotta earn it.

We're used to the size so it doesn't seem strange to us, but Jesus tapdancing Christ we have a massive ****ing outfield. You take the 3rd-biggest outfield and compare it to the K and it still seems a lot smaller than ours. Colorado has slightly more acreage, but they also have altitude and thin air.

I just don't know how much this matters in a short series.

Pretty much every homer the Jays hit would have been out of any stadium. Sal's last night would have been out in Toronto - although maybe not w/o the wind. I can't think of anything hit in Toronto that just squeaked out down in left or right.
