What do you have against Venables? The guy was the hottest DC for years. Oklahoma's offense has decided to run the super hurry-up which creates huge problems for their own defense.

He's been the DC for a team that's won a NC and has played in two others. I guess I don't see how he's so far below the other candidates that have been rumored.

That said, I think he'd consider the job. His stock has slipped a bit the last few years, so I don't think he would be in a position to consider himself above the job. KU did pretty well the last time they hired an hot-tempered assistant from OU. I think it makes enough sense for both sides to warrant discussion.
