He wasn't much of one last year.

front page espn...sportscenter, around the horn, PTI...nba playoff game

Self has been on every radio station, and i'd bet is on mike & mike tomorrow morning

wiggins and ku trending on twitter all day....in marketing terms, about a banana billion dollars worth of positive news

Yeah...it should pay major dividends in terms of recruiting in the future. Especially with the top guys that Cal usually gets.

I think Tharpe is obviously PG1 with Mason being PG2.

Honestly he's a decent PG if just doesn't shoot. Guy shoots way way to much.

the Talking Can 05-15-2013 03:46 AM

wake up, turn on sportscenter...watch segment on Wiggins with Chad Ford:

"Wiggins picked KU over UK, UNC, and FSU...he would be the #1 pick in this year's draft...unlike Noel, teams can build a franchise around him...best recruit since Durant...teams will be tanking for him next year"

Chiefs Pantalones 05-15-2013 06:21 AM

I still can't believe we got him. What a year it's gonna be next year. Self said he liked that Wiggins made it a point during the recruiting process that he wanted to win a lot. Can't wait.

Yes, I agree that Kentucky and their fans are extremely butt hurt over this. And I'm enjoying it very much. :) But I think you're underestimating Randle. That dude is a stud.

Yes, Wiggins is the nation's top prospect.

Everybody knows as much.

But it should be noted he's much more than that.

Every high school class has a No. 1 player by definition. But in the same way that all national champions aren't considered equals, all top prospects shouldn't be considered equals either. Point being, Wiggins is a special kind of athlete and talent. It's not unreasonable to call him the best prospect since LeBron James. He'll be our preseason National Player of the Year. He'll be the No. 1 pick in next June's NBA Draft. Between now and then, he'll be the biggest star in college basketball based on what he does and what people think he'll probably do years from now. Wiggins' mere presence will make KU the Big 12 favorite (again) and a legitimate contender to bring Self a second national title.

I must have missed it.

Because this AM I had the joy of watching everything NBA on Sportscenter. Lame.
