Oh but they did. When he made final cuts, while Marcus Cooper got traded for a ham sandwich

But Russell didn't really take Coopers spot, Acker did.

The staff liked Peters, Gaines and Nelson a lot already and White really flashed during preseason. Sounds like Russell couldn't play ST's well and we just didn't have a spot for him. Trading for Acker seems like a reasonable move considering only Peters/Gaines had starting experience heading into the season.

Thanks Dave. Thanks for reminding me that we spent a forth for that ****stick.

Coincidentally I was listening to ESPN radio and somebody was talking about something he said. They said, "Have you heard anybody say anything bad about Herm? Everybody loves him."

I was like, "Oo Oo pick me."

Someone had to go, so they simply cut the worst CB on the team. Clearly, a draft fail, but at least they didn't "double down" on it by keeping him around over someone they liked better despite the draft position.

Yet KC carries D'AT, Hill and Davis...

And?

That's fine and everything if he has an IQ of 75... but you'd think that would have come out in the drafting process.

Dorsey doesn't sleep on details.

Seriously. What the hell happened.

Direckshun 09-22-2016 11:40 PM

One of two things happened, here:

1. Russell was exhibiting insurmountable problems of grappling with the defense, problems that Dorsey's scouting would/should have detected.

2. Russell got in some deep shit with someone -- the law, the staff, Clark Hunt... someone. And he was too toxic to keep on the roster.

If it's option #1, it's an epic fail by the scouting department.

If option #2, it's likely an epic fail by Russell.
