Thing is GoChiefs you can go down that list and only find 14 guys you'd definitively take over Smith at this point.

So, he's still above average QB in the league and that supposedly is enough to win a SB.

Or something.

I'd take Nick Foles over Smith, and he's not on that list, but he is on the team, so it isn't even that hard to do.

Ok, I'll bite.

To the bolded, I ask - why?

Because some of them throw *gasp* INT's?

After watching this shit show for 4 years, you're going to have to be a goddamn magician to convince me that turnovers hurt you any more than being ultra conservative.

We had three drives that totaled almost 50 plays and came away with 14 points, all in garbage time. Think about that.

Any other teams QB would be better than Smith. He should be benched and let go this off season.

That list I'd feel comfortable in saying 67% of CP agreeing with me would be:

Ryan
Prescott
Wentz
Rivers
Wilson
Roethlisberger
Carr
Stafford
Brees
Mariota
Newton
Taylor
Luck
Rodgers
Flacco

As to any criteria: none in particular, just a "yeah, I'd take ____ over Smith right now" judgment.

As for interceptions... Welp, I think picking off Fitzpatrick 6 times last week and not blowing them out of the water like Pitt did to KC last night with six fewer total turnovers... Well I think that speaks for itself.

QBs I categorically wouldn't take over Smith, on the basis they're putrid with no upside:

Cutler
Fitzpatrick
Keenum (but they have Goff)
Gabbert
Cleveland Browns

Every other QB in football would either be an immediate upgrade or offer at least some semblance of potential in the future.

They want to keep him healthy and build trust in that pocket, or whatever his O line can give him.

You see what happened to RW and Cam Newton in a week's span?

Creature is coming out. A loss to the Faid will solidy it's presence.
