Missing 5 games in 4 years before the contract is an injury history? He didn't miss a game the year before the contract.

In a contract year no less.

Injury history no, injury issue? I'd say 2013 is an injury issue.

Thus far, the chiefs haven't gotten much value for the contract. Not really Houston's fault at all, but it is what it is.

No doubt.

Houston missed the Colts playoff game with a knee injury. I believe it was Hali that had the elbow injury. They were both injured in the San Diego game.

Houston has been out or ineffective (Texans last year) in every playoff game so far. The only year he was healthy since Reid got here was the year he got 22 sacks, the Chiefs didn't make the playoff and, coincidentally, was a contract year.

Houston had the elbow and then a knee in 2013 iirc. Tamba had a knee or heel iirc.

Ah. I remembered one of them playing (ineffectively) in the Denver game with a big ass sleeve on their arm but couldn't remember which one.

That's different than saying "waste of money". KC was right to resign him. Sure would have been nice to have figured out a way to lock him up the year before but what can you do. Injuries happen. Doesn't mean that the contract decision was wrong at the time.

*if healthy

You simply can't expect a pass-rusher with a bum knee to do anything. Over the years we've paid many guys who've ****ed us after; I don't feel that way in the slightest with Houston. Only bad luck with health. On the field he's a monster and emotional leader when healthy.

Best to take this juggernaut now. Pitt is by far the most dangerous team in the AFC.

If we can overcome this hurdle NE is much less of a challenge...

You are kidding yourself if you really believe this ... Pittsburgh is a scary opponent, but Tom Brady and Bill Belichick in Foxboro in January is the End Boss of the NFL. Period.

I know. I am just frustrated that he is never healthy when we really need him.
