Basically the Chiefs drafted Alex Smith with their 2nd rd pick, a very high 2nd rd pick at that. And dont forget next years 2nd rd pick also. Still seems like a lot for a slightly above average QB. On the positive side you know your not getting a bust, but your not getting a potential star either. That ship has sailed, he is what is is at this point.

Dorsey overplayed his hand on the whole Smith trade( giving up too much too soon) and on recouping that 2nd rd pick.

He's mostly just sat around and failed. Over and over again.

He'd better learn something from this because the way he's handled this draft, including getting bent over for Alex ****ing Smith is completely unacceptable. Smart teams don't get ass-blasted for an average QB and then slow-played by an inept ****tard like Jeff Ireland.

He's performed miserably thus far, IMO.

Sitting in the big chair is a very very different animal.

If he's going to be a good GM, there's room for him to improve. It's possible he won't, but there is a great deal of difference in being an assistant and being the actual trigger man.

He didn't necessarily mis-calculate the talent, he ****ed up the execution of talent acquisition. That's something he still needs to learn how to do without getting raped.
