You and Szymborksi can both **** off with that bullshit take. The Royals were an elite team over a three year period. It wasn't just a few breaks. Not over a sample that big. Lot of factors contribute to the Royals fall back this year. The large spike in home runs league wide, injuries, fatigue, regression in a few key spots. All involved. As I said to him after we butt-raped his beloved Beejays in the ALCS "You'll never get over this". And he won't. Because they would've been faves vs the Mets. |

Could this trade be a precursor for including Dyson in a trade package?

Keep telling yourself that. It doesn't make it true. There are no insecurities in the Royals fan base. Banners are a good prescription for those, as are championship rings. You're getting the reaction you are because you brought a stupid opinion to the thread. The royals of 2013-15 were not an all time elite team, but they were an elite team in MLB over that period, and you can't explain that away by saying "it was all just luck!" Back to the topic at hand:
Burns gives the Royals flexibility to trade or nontender Dyson in the offseason (though that would be unpopular in the clubhouse). It also covers them if the team decides to trade Cain now. Still think the return there would have to be tremendous and help right away, but that's what makes sense here, to me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Personally, I could give a damn if the Mets had won it, then all got busted ala Black Sox style and then the title was given to the Royals. Or they won on a contested balk call 4 nights in a row, or every Mets pitcher got AIDS the day before the series or any bad luck/good luck scenario you can think of. The Royals are the reigning World Champions. Every other team from 2015 will fade into the ether of nothingness. That's all that matters.

I think it's a fairly even swap in terms of value. Just a matter of each team thinking the other plays fills its needs better. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
@FlannyMLB: For those wondering about Eibner, keep in mind Bonifacio is younger and on the rise, and Dozier may be switched to OF. No room. #Royals

If Wade Davis is injured.... we can't trade him, we can't use him. Hopefully he comes back full strength next year, but if not then we are probably going to be sellers in 2017 and rebuild.

Honestly I'd go full white flag at this point. Play Salvy and Cain 3-4x per week, max. They'll never do it, but that's what I kinda wish they would do. Rest up for next year

At least we know the Royals players aren't using PED's like the Blue Jays.

Maybe Holland and Davis will just take turns getting TJs, with one swapping placed on the roster with the other
