I wasn't following any news today so I just learned about this. Crazy and sad and my thoughts and prayers to those who lost their lives.

Just watching Fox News they reported 2 more explosives were found and the thinking was they were trying with the first 2 bombs to get people to move to a different place so the bigger bombs could get them.

Yes. Here in Springfield, IL every beat cop has an AR in their trunk.

What is telling at this point was that if it was a traditional terror attack some group would likely be claiming credit for it right now.

I didn't say it was fair, just that the NY Post seems to have been accurate.

That is so 1980s.

Sad but true, but that's probably the most efficient, practical way of catching the guy.

CBS News senior correspondent John Miller said there is “an individual in custody,” a Saudi national who was near the scene of the blast.

Miller said a civilian claims the person was acting suspiciously and chased him down and tackled him after the explosions.

The man is said to be cooperating with investigators and denies any involvement.

I don't give a damn if he was Saudi, a guy named Robert Bob, or a smurf. They need to take him to the top of the highest building in the area after beating him to a pulp and give him a fling.

This was on twitter earlier...not from a real credible source mind you but Rain Man's post about crowd sourcing video made me go back to it. Its an interesting concept but its so hard to figure out what is real or not real or important. The noise to signal ratio.

You keep saying that. Amateurish doesn't necessarily equal a large blast.

If you are a terriost with intentions to maim/kill as many in the blast area, it would seem to me that to further your end game that people 10 feet away from the blast would at the least be knocked down by the blast.

We will know what the hell happened in in 48 hours.

It's actually not uncommon for a terrorist to stick around and watch the results of their work.

Someone "acting suspiciously" is the opposite of profiling.

Heavy police presence in Time's Square right now in NYC.
