Andy Reid is significantly better than perpetually 8-8 and a playoff loss.

He's been to 4 championship games and a Super Bowl.

There are only 11 head coaches in NFL HISTORY who have won more playoff games than Andy Reid.

I'm clearly not saying that, so I'd appreciate leaving out the snarkiness. I'm saying that Reid is getting older and unhealthier. That's not a good combination for a guy who is put into a new atmosphere of one of the most stressful and demanding jobs in the country.

Spags?

I know he failed miserably as a HC, but he loved the aggressive, attacking, 4-3 fronts in NYG. He was a good LBs coach in Philly. He learned Jim Johnson's schemes and incorporated them well in NY. Then he went to STL and failed pretty badly. And as an interim HC, he still failed pretty badly. But when he went back to DC in NO, they recovered nicely and finished the year much better.

Yeah, he got ripped by a NOLA player recently, but players are idiots and someone's always bitching.

I think Spags would be a really nice fit as a DC here.

If you want the next Jim Johnson, Spags is as close as they come.

Some reporters are insisting Reid still has interviews scheduled with SD and ARZ. Shef and Mort say deal is nearly done.

Yeah, i'll take Mort and Adams word over Geoff Tate and Merle Haggard.

When your coach has a loser mentality, it shouldn't be a surprise when it eventually rubs off on the players.

I won't complain if the new GM/coach wants to get rid of Rivers, but I won't rule out a Warner-esque late-career resurgence either.

Norv Turner is a meh guy. He doesn't get excited. He doesn't take losing seriously enough.

Phillip Rivers is a first class crybaby loser. He'll never win in the NFL, regardless of coach.

I've never been high on Andy Reid for the same reasons. He's similar to Norv in a lot of ways, especially the clock management.

Don't get me wrong, he's a major upgrade from the Pioli/Crennell reign of terror, but I'm still relieved that the Chargers will be getting someone else.

That's a 10-6 average. Can't really do better than that unless you are the patriots.

The Franchise 01-03-2013 11:27 AM

During his 14-year tenure, Reid has compiled the best win total (120), winning percentage (.609) and playoff victory total (10) in team history. He captured six division titles and five trips to the NFC Championship game. During this period, no other franchise earned more divisional playoff round appearances (7) and only Bill Belichick's New England Patriots exceeded Philadelphia's (5) conference championship game appearances with (6). Reid also sent 19 players to 44 Pro Bowl appearances, the highest total for any team in the NFL during that period. None of these players had ever appeared in a Pro Bowl before Reid was hired.
