I thought Eibner was supposed to have some potential.
|
One thing we could do with Davis is offer him an extension on top of his club option, with a discount on 2018.
|
If you were told that Wade would be facing TJ after Ned put him back out in the ninth against the Jays, would you still make the move?
I've been thinking about that while packing up my apartment today. |

Since 2000, only 2 other teams in Major League Baseball (Phils and Yanks) have accomplished what the Royals have done in the last 2 years; back to back pennants and a World Title! They may have not been an all time great team, but their recent run is among the best baseball has seen since the millennium turned over. So f%#k all the haters! That is all. |

@RobertMurrayFRS: Teams with scouts watching Jeremy Hellickson's start: Pirates, Yankees, Indians, Rangers, Marlins, Dodgers, Giants, Cardinals, Royals.

I for one am putting out the positive juju that he won't need surgery.
|
Calm down. It said MRI. Said arm, did NOT say elbow. Could be a MRI on the forearm that he was previously having trouble with.
|
Could it be possible it's been requested by a potential trade partner to ensure he checks out if a deal is made?
Yes, I know it's probably unlikely. |

Any chance we are sending Wade back at request of another team who wants an MRI before completing a trade deal?
|
Looking at rebuilding the rotation in 2017:
We have three known commodities coming in: Duffy, Ventura and Kennedy Coming off the DL, we have Vargas and Minor Borderline options already on the roster will be Young and Flynn Potential call-ups include Mills, Almonte, Strahm and Zimmer The club will decline Medlen's mutual option Volquez will decline his mutual option It seems like if you acquired a number 2 type, the rotation would fall into place nicely. Maybe they could look at Cashner in FA if they really want to splash the pot. Another option to consider is dealing Herrera for an MLB ready starter - if the Dodgers were willing to deal Urias, for example (Herrera is more valuable than Davis both in control and contract dollars). Then splash the pot next year on a premium reliever. Take chances on rebound candidates like Storen or Cecil and hope you capture lightning in a bottle. Anyone else have any brilliant ideas? |

If there is anything good to come from today, it's that Wade is not having elbow trouble as speculated:

Ned Yost said Wade Davis is experiencing same issues he had before in his forearm. The trade deadline gods really hate the royals. Even going back to the year David DeJesus got hurt right before the deadline in 2010 or whatever year that was.
Believe Ryan Kalish and Nosh Reddick were the names that were discussed for him before that, too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Isn't that Lucroy in the stands watching Hopkins make a silly catch?
|
Lol lol
Rangers were 1-6 before they met us. Who they've now ass-raped 5-1. |
@JonHeyman: brewers have a deal with indians with lucroy going to cleveland, pending player approval. @Ken_Rosenthal an @JeffPassan 1st
|
Just shut Davis down. No reason to put him back out there at this point. Let's get him some rest and have him ready and fresh for next season.
We should make Young the closer. We don't seem to have a need for one anymore so that way we won't see Young pitch. |
Twins might leap us in the division standings before end of the season.
 |

Indians going for it all....
@Ken_Rosenthal: BREAKING: Andrew Miller to #Indians. |
@Buster_ESPN: Yankees expected to get Indians prospects Frazier and Sheffield and others in the trade for Andrew Miller.
@Ken_Rosenthal: No word yet on status of Lucroy trade. Possible #Indians getting both him and Miller. Possible Lucroy deal falling apart. |
@ChrisCarlinSNY: If Sheffield and Frazier in the deal, Yanks get Indians #1 & #5 prospects.
@Joelsherman1: With pen strength broken up have to assume #Yankees now open for business on everything Beltran, McCann, Gardner, Eovaldi, Pineda, Nova |

Going to be very hard to win the division next season
|
Let's not overrate the Indians. They've had great teams on paper before that failed big time.
|
This is what the Royals get for 2014 and 2015.
|
@Joelsherman1: #Yankees also getting 2 RH relief prospects: Ben Heller and J.P. Feyereisen #Indians
|
Will the Royals be a WC team at best next season?
|
Noooooooooooo
@FlannyMLB: #Royals have released outfielder Travis Snider |
@FlannyMLB: Ned said they should find out Wade Davis' MRI results around 11:30 this morning https://twitter.com/shizzyrocks/stat...56758873022470
|
Lmao wow!
@Haudricourt: Jonathan Lucroy has exercised his no-trade clause and vetoed trade from #Brewers to Indians. Details to come. |
I don't understand that. Why would you veto it if you have a very good chance of getting into the playoffs with the Indians, than you would as a Brewer?
Edit: To get rid of the club option, that would be understandable, but good luck, no team is going to remove it. |
Quote:
On the other side of the discussion, if it does result an TJS, it could be in a way, a blessing in disguise that I believe the Royals have a club option on Wade, and the Royals probably would decline that option, thus freeing up 7.5 million, while having to give out a 2.5 million buyout (Similar to what just happened to Holland). |
Damn, these guys fell 25,000 feet and missed the net.
|

|
@JeffPassan: Sources: Jonathan Lucroy wanted Indians to rip up 2017 club option to get him to waive no-trade clause. Understandably, Cleveland said no.
|
Quote:
@Joelsherman1: #Yankees also getting 2 RH relief prospects: Ben Heller and J.P. Feyereisen Damn the Yankees are raking in the prospects! They easily have the #1 farm system now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
@JonHeyman: indians have "moved on." lucroy will not be an indian. there will be no reworking.
|
Too bad about waders arm. The timing could literally not be worse. These hauls the relievers are commanding is staggering. Herrera must be worth a mint.
|
Bold prediction: Royals have a slump season next year due to lack of pitching, trade Cain Esky Hosmer and Herrera for a very nice haul of prospects, make the world series again in 2020.
|
@FlannyMLB: Source: Kendrys Morales does not have a no-trade clause. Astros, Rangers may have interest, though Rangers seek pitching more. #Royals
|
@jcrasnick: #Tigers have discussed the usual suspects: Hellickson, Miley, Volquez, Hector Santiago, Erasmo Ramirez. It's all 4s and 5s.

Just shut Wade Down.
.they will need him next season |

@goldbergkc: 24-year old LHP Matt Strahm was 21st round draft pick in '12. 3-8, 3.43 this year in AA with 107K & 23 BB. Missed 2013 with TJ surgery
|
I don't give a shit if Davis' elbow is clean, so was Vargas':

Jason Vargas said an examination revealed no damage to his UCL. He hopes he can play catch next week. @FlannyMLB: Ned also said MRI showed Davis' elbow was clean. #Royals
|
Let's just shut him down. There is no reason to risk anything. After all of the extra innings he has pitched he needs to just fully recover. I wouldn't mind limiting Herrera either.
|
Quote:
Yep. And as I advocated for yesterday, I would rest players like Salvy and LoCain on a regular basis. Let's compensate for the long haul of the past two years. No use wearing everybody out to chase 75 wins |
