4 of those tweets are from Chiefs fans. And @nfldraftscout is a writer for Bleacher Report.

The guy who made the Alex Smith comparison (@MoveTheSticks) was a scout for the Ravens, Browns, and Eagles.

Scott Pioli was a personnel executive for the Patriots during their Super Bowl years.

Exactly how the **** can you compare Alex Smith to Geno Smith in stats? Smith had one good year stats wise....and he still didn't throw for over 3000 yards that season.

The same way you would compare Joe Montana and Mark Vlasic.

Homer Vision powers activate! All Donk fans find some arbitrary sources you "trust" on Geno Smith! Find the same ones who said Josh McDaniels is the NFL's next great head coach if you're desperate! GO!

Who mentioned Alex Smith stats??? Smith was probably quite a good prospect.

Alex Smith coming out of Urban Meyer's Utah program was a pretty good QB. I personally saw most of his games and he was an incredibly accurate QB and was a legit pick in that draft as the #1 seed. Very smart and could really analyze a defense. He's got a raw deal in Frisco for his entire career. I fully expect him to end up in either Arizona or with the Jets this next season.

However, the major point with Smith is that he never had an arm that would drive the ball downfield to all points. (Which is the prime reason that Harbaugh went with Kaepernick over Smith, though you can really make an argument that he ****ed the team chemistry up with the switch at this point in the season.)

I can see someone attempting to make the comparison to Geno though. Smith's combine numbers:

6041 - height
217 lbs. - weight
4.71 - 40 yard dash
9'05" - broad jump
3.97 - 20 shuttle

Pretty good numbers.

And considering that Smith was leading the NFL in completion % and passer rating, two things that Geno excels at, the comparison is at least a better one than the ignorant bullshit Jamarcus Russel or Byron Leftwich ones.

But the one thing Geno has is the ability to drive the ball deep - with confidence. There is a little gunslinger in Geno that is going to make defensive coordinators worried that a very good game manager like Smith does not have. Take Smith's accuracy and put it together with a Rogers type mentality and that's Geno.

You and SNR Ill remember you when Geno succeeds or fails in the NFL. And him becoming Josh freeman will be considered fail. But at the same time I know prospect is never à sure thing.

The Alex Smith comparison doesn't bother me as bad as the assclowns who call Geno a running QB.

I know immediately what kind of fan I'm talking to when they say "we need a pro style QB who doesn't run"

I quickly remind them that he leads all NCAA div-1 QBs in PASSING touchdowns with 40.

Crickets....

Honestly, who knows.

All I know is I see a guy who, at this stage, has just about everything that you could possibly want in a prospect for the QB position.

Ideal size, great arm, incredible accuracy, uncanny pocket awareness, fearless, quick, high release, confidence, experience, etc.

You take a chance on that guy, especially if you are the 2013 Chiefs.

You never know how a guy ends up. But Geno has all the necessary tools to be a very, very good QB at the next level. Potentially an elite level QB. You take that all day long.

Stick to badminton and curling, Canadian.

Chuck Cook ‏@chuckecook
@GenoSmith2KC : Gotta be somebody, Geno seems like more of a quarterback than Quinn and Cassell combined #takeachance #savethechiefs #please

Anybody know if this is the Chuck Cook that was some kind of front office dude under Carl for a long time?

I'm 45 min West of NYC and I am looking at 4 plus inches so Geno may get some snow.
