If your looking to flip and make cash may I recomend "Industrial or Steampunk" items right now, especially Light Fixtures $$, Old Carts, Workbenches etc.. I picked up a half dozen explosion proff vintage industrial lights the other day. I plan on using two and fliping the rest. I can't seem to locate a photo of them but they look like this. http://originalbarnlights.com/image/...ed_416x315.jpg |
I have a very rustic workbench that I'm guessing is vintage 1930s, complete with all of the wear expected from a used workbench...with 2 wooden handle vices.
What would be the value of something like that? |

You should probably just send that box to me as it is and I'll give you a luxurious amount of highly valuable casino cash.

I have an old Allen compound bow. Built around 1974/75. I bought it brand new off the factory floor. I've always wondered if it was collectable. Any experts out there know anything about this?

However, you do have a much chance at finding a real deal at a garage sale-type situation than an auction. If something truly has some value, chances are that someone there is going to know and bid you up. And if something SEEMS like it has value, the rubes will bid it up because they think it is valuable. I dabble a bit in coins, and I routinely see common-date circulated silver dollars available for $25-40 in most pawn shops and ebay go for $50+ because they SEEM cool and valuable. |

i mean FULL. most in the original boxes too. but he wont part with any of it... we buy retro stuff all the time. old tin signs mostly. have a couple hundred old signs and a almost a hundred repro. signs covering several walls in our house. lately ive also been buying neon beer lights. i've got 19 at this point, all old ones. |
i'm trying to get rid of stuff.
got an old fire truck pedal car i dug out of an old barn about 20 years ago. mostly all there, but needs a lot of work. i had a guy look at it once and he told me it was worth more if i left it alone and didn't try to restore it. but i've seen them on those picker and pawn shop shows and it seems like they need to be restored to get any value out of them. got a case of about 50 45 records from the 50's and 60's...beatles, johnny cash, bill haley and the comets, etc. shit's just been taking up storage for years...time to just get rid of them. sec |
I have an OXO pinball machine that I'm thinking about getting rid of. You play play tic-tac-toe by hitting the targets. Playfield is pretty worn down but the back glass is perfect. $400 OBO.
Here's a pic of it: http://i.imgur.com/KQu1k.jpg |
sell it to pawn stars

graystoke,
The advice on "steam punk and Industrial" has been very helpful and valuable to me. I have access to a lot of that type of item. I don't "get" steampunk when you look at the dress and costume and things they're putting on their outfits, but I have plenty of access to old industrial stuff, and rustic metal items that appear to be of value in that movement. Thanks. That alone has made this thread a success for me. |
If anyone needs boar semen I have loads.
