For me it was easy, I was born in LA. I was Dodgers/Lakers and a LA Rams fan. The rams were leaving and i had to find a new team. I wanted nothing to do with St Louis. I had already grew hatred for all the California Football teams. I liked Christian Okoye followed him and stuck with the Chiefs. Pretty simple.

Loved the Lakes since I was a kid living in K.C. in the early 70's, when Wilt/West were at the end of their careers. Chiefs is self-explanatory. Never liked the K.C. Kings. They were aight a couple of times but I would only go to see the Lakes when they came to town. Same as I do now in the ATL...NBA/NFL ticket is a must to follow my squads....and I don't miss a Laker/Chief game....period!!!!!!

eh, 12 years old and I didn't have a basketball team yet.

KC didn't have one, so I went searching.

The Lakers had a good history and were really struggling. I hated seeing a strong, historic franchise hurting as bad as they were, so I started rooting for them. I really liked VanExel b/c he was a small, scrapper type. Ceballos and Eddie Jones were fun to watch mature. They were a young, rebuilding team when I was looking for a club so I threw my lot in with them.

I was a Lakers fan for almost a decade before they won anything, so I'm not a bandwagoner.

I'm also a Blues fan (no hockey team in KC) and a Cardinals fan (Ozzie Smith was my boyhood idol, my dad didn't have a favorite team but his best friend was a huge Cards fan so he swung me that way as well, my earliest baseball memory is rooting against the Royals in '85).

So I figure that with my 20 odd years of watching the Chiefs and Blues consistently make the playoffs and hack out of it, I'm entitled to at least a little success from the Lakers and Cardinals without having to feel bad for not being from the respective cities.

I didn't realize being a Chief fan was getting on a bandwagon.

Football: Chiefs
Basketball: Lakers
Baseball : SF Giants/Oakland A's
Hockey: Sharks

Based upon the teams I like it's kind of hard to call me a bandwagoner but go ahead.

3 out of 5 aren't bad.

I don't really have a favorite NBA team anymore, the problem is systemic within the NBA. Everyone qualifies for the playoffs, and shaqdaddy and kobe can qualify at #6 seed, then game on overdrive and win the finals. Shaqdaddy don't even have to hit free throws unless there is less than a minute left AND it's the playoffs.

Regular season is absolutely meaningless, with over half of the association consistently bringing their B game or worse.

I just don't waste my time watching Basketball that doesn't have all heart in it.

I'm having a hard time loving the Lakers because I'm too busy watching the Mavs win 12 straight. Including punking the boot accessories in San Antonio. I bet it just pisses David Stern off seeing the Mavs win. I guarantee you he doesn't want to see us win in the finals

For me it was being born in the LA area (OC) and growing up in KC. The Kings moved a few years after I moved to KC so I was looking for a NBA team. I picked the Lakers (also Dodgers because I couldn't stand GB and the Royals) and the Chiefs because my Dad had season tickets.

Actually I was pretty pleased with the way the Lamarless Lakers played for the second straight night on the road. I have no doubt the Lakers will own them come playoff time. Suns are going to be the team to beat in the West. I think your final 4 in the West will be the Lakers/Spurs/Suns/Jazz. I don't even see Dallas making it.

You gotta be kidding me, the Mavs have just about everybody back from last years western conference championship team plus a few additions. We're poised to make another run at the championship, much to the displeasure of David Stern. Kobe will have some great individual performances and then the Lakers will take another early playoff exit. Oh and we what have beat the Lakers with or without Odom.
