The things you hear when a player is on his way out. I guess Green didn't like Saunders any better than LJ did. He just handled it alot better

The sad hilarity of this story deserves a recap.

- The Palm Beach Post said that the 'Phins would trade their second 7th round pick for Trent. (They ended up with two 7th rounders from the Wes Welker trade.)

- Rotoworld and ProFootballTalk, either both making the same mistake or PFT following Roto's lead, reported it as Miami trading their 2nd round pick instead of their second 7th. PFT acknowledged their error shortly after posting the story, not sure about Roto.

- Nick wrote a column for Warpaint on Wednesday night stating unequivacably that KC would get Miami's 2nd round pick.

- Shortly after PFT corrected their story, Nick changed his column to say that even though the Palm Beach paper was reporting Miami would trade their 2nd round pick (which they never said), Nick had a "source" telling him it would be a 7th round pick (which, of course, was the original story all along). Unlike PFT, which acknowledged their error, Nick edited his article without mentioning it had been changed.

- By Thursday morning Nick had changed his column again with a claim that the Palm Beach paper changed THEIR story and that they were now saying it would be a 7th round pick, even though that's what they had been saying all along. Even while accusing the Palm Beach paper of changing their story, nowhere did Nick acknowledge that his story about KC definitely getting Miami's 2nd round pick had now been changed twice.

- Nick now claims to have two sources telling him two different things, and says KC will get somewhere between a 2nd and a 7th for Trent. In other words, he acts like he has a source telling him that KC will get a 2nd for Trent, even though that story was just the result of a typo on another website.

It's journalism at it's finest. LMAO

To top off this amazing 24 hour period, Nick went onto the Royals' site on Scout to talk about the Royals and A-Rod and was laughed off the board.

That has to be one of the most idiotic posts in the history of Royals Corner.

Really, CI, you should stick to spreading unsubstantiated rumors about the Chiefs. You demonstrate a complete lack of knowledge of both the Royals and baseball.

Sure-Oz 03-22-2007 03:03 PM

I remmeber when nick was on royalscorner saying a blockbuster trade to the royals was happening like last year with possibility of arod haha, what a douche

wartaint has been suggesting that fans would be "surprised" at Green's value for a while now.

Little did we know that Athan was genius enough to know that the surprise was that Green apparently has very little on the market.

Wonder why.

Because Tampa Bay is reeruned.

I'm begginning to think that's where he gets most of his sources, just basically like we do from reading public reports. What a joke.

I respect what the other staff at the site does. Nugent and Campbell seem to have some insight.

To me, Nick putting himself in the spotlight as the publisher makes the whole thing a big assed joke when it could be better than that. He must have an ego to be in the spotlight.

Did anyone actually listen to the entire press conference with Edwards this past Tuesday?

Nick had a question twards the end asking edwards about trading up for Branch since his stalk is falling. Hillarious!!! He said to herm branch is sliding, he is slated to go anywhere in the top 10-15 and would KC move up to get him. He said it like it was all FACT not realizing it is obviously all speculation. I would have everyone listen to the end of the PC and Nicks question and Edwards response. Maybe it's just me but he sounded like a total moron.

GoNick has been around here throwing the same thing around about a first day pick.

He's been pushing that on their site, that KC might trade up for Alan Branch... even though it was Branch's workout with Krumie that started his slide in the first place. People started threads asking him to explain why he thought KC would trade up to grab a guy who's falling because KC's own D line coach made him look bad.

Naturally, he ignored those threads.

the more teams that show interest ..... the better the deal we get.

we need to start floating rumors

Thats exactly what he does. For example Teicher puts in his article that the Chiefs are trying to sign Boone to a long term deal. 7 hours later Nick reports that sources have told him that the Chiefs are close to a deal with Boone. He did the same thing with every visit and signing.

His board started to turn on him when he whiffed completely on McIntosh. It was a pleasure to watch.

Mr. Laz 03-22-2007 04:22 PM

i think Green is worth more than most people around here do as well.
