Best way to clear a sinus infection...is to just not breathe

thanks....

Last couple of times I've had one I just asked for Sulfameth. Knocked it right out.

You wish. That would relieve the pressure.

GO TO THE DOCTOR.

One must silently and carefully track the sinus infection while remaining downwind, Mr. Laz. It is important to remember that one must have a keen knowledge of both the topography and the sinus infection's behavior patterns. Be alert for signs such as footprints, spoor, and disturbances in the sinus infection's habitat. Once the sinus infection has been spotted, find cover, remain silent and prepare your nosespray quietly without disturbing any nearby nosehairs or buggers which could alarm the sinus infection. Then, blast the sinus infection in the heart or head. Should your first shot only wound the sinus infection, follow it quickly using the blood trail. The sinus infection will eventually weaken and you can apply the kill shot at close range.

Antibiotics and steroids. 3 days to clear it up, tops.

From 2001-2004 (when I first started seeing my ENT) I had on average 12 sinus infections a year.

Augmentin is Amoxicillin with Clavulanic Acid... it is quite a bit more powerful due to the combination.

And I hate to disagree here, but you are wrong on Augmentin... it is very effective at treating sinus infections. Levaquin and Biaxin are SLIGHTLY more effective but only by a matter of a few percentage points.

That is very good advice... but remember to finish off the full prescription with the antibiotics... don't quit just because the infection appears to have cleared up.

Nzoner 06-12-2007 12:46 PM

I get one at least once a year,I've got some serious bad allergies, like Fraz said get your ass to the doctor and to echo what Kyle said DO NOT stop taking the meds just because the infection seems to have cleared.
