Carlos Carson was a fifth round draft pick out of Louisiana State in 1980. Not even a first round draft pick. That goes way back, how did he come up with Carlos Carson?

I didn't listen to the interview; I just read it on KCChiefs.com, but I'm guessing that whoever typed it up mis-interpreted what Herm said.

I'm thinking that Herm said/meant that we haven't drafted a #1 WR since Carlos Carson.

After Carson, our #1 WR's have been Stephone Paige, then Willie Davis/J.J. Birden, then Andre Rison, then Derrick Alexander, then Kennison.

Barnett, Penn, and/or Dawson may have led the team in catches some of those years, but I'd hardly consider them #1 WR's.
