I guess asking for a rapper to make me think and "awe" me with his lyrics is asking too much in today's "it's all about the money and cars" world.

I like rap. It's fun to listen to, good beats and stuff, especially in the club. But I just don't see how anyone would claim it as being "culture." It will never be taken seriously, and it shouldn't. Especially with what rappers rap about.

No, rap can be clever. Take, for example, this track by Blackalicious:

Crazy Town - Butterfly

Come my Lady, come come my lady, you're my sugarfly, sugar ladie.....etc

Is this considered rap?

I consider that song to be Craptastic either way.

If you're looking for some good rap.....check out Atmosphere.

White rapper from Minnesota.

Alices Allstars 06-16-2008 11:58 AM

I can't give you an objective opinion about rappers, I can't make out what the phuch they are saying.

Country Grammar was an alright CD but after that they all get increasingly pathetic. Then he made that song with Tim McGraw and ruined everything he had.

Carlota69 06-16-2008 12:58 PM

This list is alittle bit off...

How about Dee Dee Ramone? His attempt at rap was atrocious, at best.

Nelly? Really? Will Smith? I dont agree.
