Just sayin'.

So you didn't hear that Mecca was back?

Maybe you didn't understand what you're supposed to do here. I said "show me where Gunther took the Chiefs to the playoffs". Read it a couple of times, then if you still don't understand it, read it a few more times.

I have already answered your question twice now, I guess I could type slower, but I don't see how that will help you.

Who did he lose to in the play-offs?

Mike Ditka knows more about football than alot of people here too. Yet, that dinosaur belongs in the "Jim Brown" era too.

Gunn can't adapt, it seems. That is the worst thing you can have in a DC, I think.

A pity. I still like the guy though. Just don't want him as my coach.

Gun won the afc west title in his 1st season.

Lost a playoff spot the second year because our newly acquired kicker kicked it outa bounds and gave the Raiders the ball on the 35 yd line. It was the last drive the game and the season when Jano hit the winning field goal.

He was the only chefs coach to beat the donks every time he coached against them, here or there.

Like it or not, he is much loved for his effort.

he's a clown and a douche bag and a failure, like you......

RINGLEADER 12-04-2009 03:14 PM

This is just an extension of the tantrum that Gunther threw after his coaching debut in Chicago when Dick Jauron's Bears relied heavily on the wide receiver screen. It was laughable to hear him talking about how it was "unfair" for the Bears to run some kind of college play against his mighty NFL defense...lol...

I think it is fairly obvious now that Marty was the sole reason for Gun's success along with Pro Bowl players at every position.

I am so glad that worthless sack of shit is out of here.

As I'm sure others have pointed out later in this thread you're confusing his two seasons I believe...he never took the Chiefs to an AFC West title because, in his first season, his defense wasn't able to retain a 17 point lead against the Raiders at Arrowhead and the loss handed the AFC West title to the Seattle Seahawks.

Beating the Broncos four times in two seasons doesn't negate his antiquated and inflexible coaching style that has left him in charge of one of the worse defenses in each of the past few seasons.

Remember: RUN THE FOOTBALL AND PLAY DEFENSE!

Yup, Clancy is doing a hell of a job.

Yeah, having a defense with Derrick Thomas, Neil Smith, Dan Saleaumua, Dale Carter, James Hasty, Tracey Simien, etc., etc. it is naturally going to make you look like a great coach.

What's really surprising is that Marty was able to win all those games without a QB, without a consistent running attack, without much in the way of a wide receiver corp. As stacked as we were on defense in those days we were just awful, talent-wise, on offense.

Sweet Daddy Hate 12-04-2009 03:35 PM

Piss on Gunther, but he's right about the Spread/Wildcat in the NFL.

Yep except in 93-94 when we had Montana and Allen.

chiefzilla1501 12-04-2009 04:00 PM

Ha. So first it was Vermeil. Then it was Vermeil's assistants. Then it was the players. Then it was Herm Edwards. Then it was the Cover 2.

And now it's an NFL conspiracy.

What a ****ing douche bag. Hey Gunther, the Steelers and Ravens and many others are examples of teams who have done just fine despite the rule changes. How about you quit bitching and learn how to run a defense.
