This team is an embarrassment. Seriously, Dayton Moore needs to just resign.

Buck is having a pretty good year too. Glad we got rid of both of them for some old fart with no future.

More than some graybeard that hits around the Mendoza line.

I keep getting e-mails telling me to hurry for the best seats for upcoming games and think wtf,I'm going to drive to KC pay for a ticket, parking and $8 beers to watch this shit.

If anyone from the Royals is reading or cares,we've got a group of college players here in St Joe called The Mustangs that are a helluva lot more enjoyable to watch and the food and beer prices are great too.

Its not that Buck and Olivo were world-beaters. It is the fact that our general manager had the opportunity to examine the statistical history of Buck, Olivo, and Kendall, then concluded that Kendall was his man, for a lot more money than what Buck would have cost.

Even though we're talking "bad vs average", it was a pretty clear example of his ability to evaluate talent, and he flunked that test. Barring good luck, this season is merely a verification of what everybody else in the room knew would happen.

From what I heard, Olivo wasn't real happy here. I kept hearing things that would lead me to believe he and Hillman didn't get along.

Sure-Oz 05-13-2010 08:48 AM

plus olivo wanted to get paid

I'd trade Kendall and Farnsy straight up for Buck and Yabuta. Get all '08 on they azz.

So far this year:

Kendall/Pena combined - .262 AVG., 0 HR, 5 RBI, 913 stolen bases allowed, including 883 throws into center field.

Olivo/Buck combined: .272 AVG., 14 HR, 34 RBI

I usually ignore RBI because it is a massively overrated stat. (seriously, major league baseball should formally disband Runs Batted In as a stat. It is of very little use to judge a player's value)

However, the difference in OPS this season between Buck and Kendall is, unsurprisingly, very large.

DeezNutz 05-13-2010 12:07 PM

But Kendall calls a great game! Unlike Olivo, whose shitty game calling almost prevented the no-hitter that he caught earlier this year.

Wait...

Wait...

It's awesome how we sign guys like 7 years after their prime, surprised we didn't make a run at Griffey for CF.
