This team is an embarrassment. Seriously, Dayton Moore needs to just resign.

Its not that Buck and Olivo were world-beaters. It is the fact that our general manager had the opportunity to examine the statistical history of Buck, Olivo, and Kendall, then concluded that Kendall was his man, for a lot more money than what Buck would have cost.

Even though we're talking "bad vs average", it was a pretty clear example of his ability to evaluate talent, and he flunked that test. Barring good luck, this season is merely a verification of what everybody else in the room knew would happen.

From what I heard, Olivo wasn't real happy here. I kept hearing things that would lead me to believe he and Hillman didn't get along.

I'd trade Kendall and Farnsy straight up for Buck and Yabuta. Get all '08 on they azz.

So far this year:

Kendall/Pena combined - .262 AVG., 0 HR, 5 RBI, 913 stolen bases allowed, including 883 throws into center field.

Olivo/Buck combined: .272 AVG., 14 HR, 34 RBI

I usually ignore RBI because it is a massively overrated stat. (seriously, major league baseball should formally disband Runs Batted In as a stat. It is of very little use to judge a player's value)

However, the difference in OPS this season between Buck and Kendall is, unsurprisingly, very large.

But Kendall calls a great game! Unlike Olivo, whose shitty game calling almost prevented the no-hitter that he caught earlier this year.
