The names I'm hearing the most are Chris Petersen, Bobby Petrino, Bob Stoops, and Dan Mullen.
I'm really warming to the idea of Chris Petersen. He's turned down jobs before so I'm not sure he'd leave Boise State, but I think he'd be an outstanding hire. He's making $1.2mil a year now at Boise State so a more than double pay raise, the real possibility of a BCS Championship, Florida weather, and Florida recruiting *might* entice him to move.
Bobby Petrino is a great coach and offensive mind, but he's so damn shady. While I think he'd be successful at Florida, he's a guy who I'd always worry about jumping ship. Not a big fan.
Bob Stoops is not a real possibility, IMO. He was offered the job when Spurrier left, and declined. It is rumored he was approached again when Zook was fired, and declined. Oklahoma is a premier job and has given Stoops a raise each time Florida came calling. He's also lost some of his luster with all of his big game losses. He'd be a good hire, but wouldn't be very exciting. I don't there's any chance he leaves Norman.
Dan Mullen = backup plan, IMO. He's relatively young, fiery, and offensive-minded. But he's also not that exciting and only has 2 years of HC experience. Memories of him are fonder since he left Florida and he's done relatively well at Miss St. but I think Florida can get a better coach.
