Bubba will be a minor leaguer next year.

Callis says it's Cole from UCLA.

His dad just lost his job.

I'm sure they're being honest when they say he hasn't made a decision yet, but he'll be taking the money.

Dumb. When the BPA is also a local legend, you take him.

I think it's very arguable who the BPA is. Gerritt Cole throws 100 MPH with decent secondary pitches and has had proven success at a major college. He profiles as a #1 pitcher. If he and Bubba are sitting there, either guy could be BPA depending on who you talk to.

Royals drafted Starling. I'd say chances are 90% he goes pro now.

Sam Hall 06-06-2011 07:16 PM

This was the worst possible scenario for Nebraska. I thought there was a 25% chance Bubba would play for the Huskers. Now I'm thinking 0%.

Pitt Gorilla 06-06-2011 07:17 PM

He was NEVER going to play for Nebraska.

Yeah, contract leverage absolutely has no chance of being in play here.

Have to commit to college for leverage. He was never really going to play for Nebraska. Nothing to do with Nebraska, Dylan Bundy is never going to be a Longhorn.

Everyone makes it sound like he randomly picked a school this isn't the case though. Yes we knew he would likely be a first rounder but I don't recall anyone at the time saying he was a definite top 5 pick his stock certainly went up this past year.
