I really don't like Franklin as a passer. Yeah he's just a Sophomore, but when he's asked to pass he just doesn't have it. He's not as good of a runner as Brad Smith. He doesn't have the accuracy/smarts of Daniel. And of course not the arm strength of Gabbert. He's just a guy...

IMO it comes back to Ressel sucking. If you think he's got it you try and move the ball downfield to set up a field goal. If you miss, sucks, but at least you've taken a shot; make it and you've got OSU up 4 to start the 2nd half. But considering Ressel has been the antithesis of clutch this season you don't want to take the wind out of your sails after holding the Cowboys to 3 points over their last two drives by having Ressel choke away an attempt.
