I just don't see Arkansas as a lock to be top 5 next year.

They beat South Carolina this year. That was basically their best win. They got blown out by Alabama and LSU and had to come back to beat Vandy and A&M.

They are a good team. I just don't see them being a great team.

I didn't see it myself, but my son told me he saw a pre-season poll for next year and LSU is #1, Ark is #2

You may be right. It's just ironic because last year people were saying they have LSU and Bama on the road. Next year we have them at home but the fact we play them at all is a knock? We will play them every year. We are in same division. Arkansas is exciting right now. We are rising. Defense looks to be shoring up. Offense will always rise. Next year could be bad, which would screw Wilson if he stays, but we are a program on the rise.

I'm not too worried about next year. Kobi Hamilton will be back, Knile Davis will be back, Wilson SHOULD be back. The D is improving. Chris Gragg could be a stud at TE. Petrino has done a good job recruiting since he's been in Fayetteville, and he's stated that they have some elite newbs coming in next year.

Plus he plays in the SEC, one of Pioli's favorite conferences. He's faced good college defenses in BAMA and LSU. He's 6'3' 220 now. Probably play in NFL around 230, so has bigger frame than RG3. Although the ball doesn't explode out of his hand like RG3, he has better arm strength than Luck. I didn't see too many Hog games this year so I don't know about his poise, but he seemed to get better as the game went along last night.

If he comes out, and it seems like this is the year to stay in school, I hope our scouts do a thorough evaluation. He's still raw. I'm not sure he's top 11, Maybe late teens. We could try and trade back 5-6 slots and pick up another 3rd, but if I were picking and he;s my guy, I pick him at 11. I make sure I have a great QB coach and OC to develop him, and I don't start him from day 1.

I watched the game last night because of this thread. I liked what I saw. Kid looks good. Throws good and looked one way to draw defense away before he threw the other way. Also liked his moxie. Looks like a tough competitor.

I'd love to draft this kid in round 1!

Kiper says that if Wilson comes out he moves into the 3rd QB position in this draft. For what that's worth. :shrug:

He could fall right to us, if he got by Wash and Miami.

He's coming back for his senior year.

:thumb: I'm very happy about this... now we need to make sure that the younger WRs/TEs are ready to rise up to the challenge. I hope Davis is ready to go in time too, that's going to be a strong combo hopefully.
