Love it. And I had to kill two Russian whores and an X wife (not buried, or at least surfaced yet) just to post this from a boarding house in Prague... |
I haven't read the thread but it better have been a chick that nominated Will & Grace. I'm not even a homophobe that show was just legendarily stupid.

How I Met Your Mother needs a nom.

Can some folks proofread my list and be sure I don't have any repeats in there? Particularly with regard to putting "The" in front of a name (e.g., "Munsters" and "The Munsters").

Extras
It's Alan Partridge |
While I love Monty Python, it should not be on the list as a sitcom. It was sketch comedy.

Mr. Show But sitcom comes from SITUATIONAL comedy, ie, it has a distinct setting it occurs in. Could be a city, a workplace, a bar, a home. But it the single setting differentiates it from a sketch show or variety hour like Burnett/Hee-Haw. |
Do another sketch comedy poll later. There are too many that would dilute this list. After it's over, they can go head-to-head.
Sitcom vs. Sketchcom. Both enter the ring. One leaves with it's side split. |
If there's no sketch comedy, what comes out? Monty Python and Benny Hill? Anything else?
My initial preference would be to add sketch shows, though. There aren't that many of them. In fact, the only other one I'd probably add would be a series of SNL with the different casts listed in different entries. |

I guess Love American Style would come out of the poll too if we're eliminating sketch comedies. |
