If Hootie is moving to my state it's time to get out.
|
if it is just the mattress you are hauling, and you have racks...you are FINE strapping it down brother....They are just ****ing with you.....As long as it doesn't exceed the overhang limits or block your vision....Strap that bitch down and roll. I have strapped so much shit down.....one queen mattress...piece of cake.
|
it's a queen mattress and a queen box and if he's ****ing with me I'm not going to be happy...I did research and I just don't trust it...I'd be willing to spend up to $200 shipping this thing but the cheapest I have found is $320...so it's either I find a buyer in 5 days or try the luggage racks and I really don't want to cause a traffic accident on the way home

You could also ditch the box spring, since they do JACK SHIT in terms of the mattress, and then pick up a box spring off craig's list when you get there..and just tie the mattress down. Either way I can't see it being a big deal, just use like 4 tie downs...nad get them tight as ****. |

A Queen is 60x80
The roof racks for a 2002 Allroad are 48 wide. 6" overhang on either side Dunno how far apart you can place the racks on the roof, but 80" is a lot to cover. Carrying capacity is only 145# as well. Doesn't look promising |

You might be okay doing this, but I wouldn't do it. Too much risk for too little gain.
|
Also, this thread could go 1,000 and make it to the hall of classics if all goes well (and by "well", I mean "comically wrong").
