We ran 987 plays last year

Lets say these are realistic expectations for the upcoming season for the distribution of the rock...

Bowe - 110 (targets)
Baldwin - 90 (targets)
Charles - 250
Hillis - 250
Moeaki - 60 (targets)
Boss - 60 (targets)

Total that up and thats only 790 plays.

Lets say our offense improves a little and we run 1050 plays...thats probably conservative being we will have Charles and Hillis extending drives.

That leaves 260 plays up in the air for

Dexter
Breaston
Droughns
Gray
Maneri
Copper

to fight over

Lets not act as if Dexter wont touch the ball a lot this year.

he will.

lol 250 for Charles

the dude caught 45 for 468 on his back the last full season he played. There is no reason to think his talents cant extend those crappy screens and dump offs again. He will get 40+ looks at just doing that in the passing game, himself.

Say he gets 5 plays a game. That's 80 targets. According to the numbers you posted on Bowe/Breastons targets they were successful on ~63% of them. Say Dexter is successful on 63% of the plays he gets. That's 50 catches. He'd only have to average 6 yards a catch to get 300. He's averaging 11.3 so far in Daboll's system.

LMAO

Dude...dude.

Let me try to explain this in the simplest way I can. Allow me to deliver the death blow to this ****ing bullshit with pure, unadulterated logic.

Here are the top 10 passing offenses from last season:

NO
NE
DET
NYG
GB
SD
DAL
ATL
PIT
CAR

Here are the numbers from the 4th WR on those teams

1. Lance Moore - 52 catches, 627 yards
2. Julian Edelman - 4 catches, 34 yards
3. Maurice Stovall - 1 catch, 8 yards
4. Ramses Barden - 9 catches, 94 yards
5. James Jones - 38 catches, 635 yards
6. Vincent Brown - 19 catches, 329 yards
7. Kevin Ogletree - 15 catches, 164 yards
8. Eric Weems - 11 catches, 90 yards
9. Emmanuel Sanders - 22 catches, 288 yards
10. Seyi Ajirotutu - 1 catch, 4 yards

Now...unless you think we're gonna have the #1 passing offense...the chances of Dexter catching 50 balls is pretty ****ing low.

And odds are we aren't a top 10 passing offense...making it even lower.

Now I'm gonna wait for some idiot to compare Dexter to James Jones.

jd1020 08-19-2012 10:37 PM

Then throw out a number... how many plays will he get a game? I really don't care about other teams #4 receivers. McCluster is going to see the field. He will get his targets. He'd only have to get 39 catches at last years average per catch to get 300 yards.

CoMoChief 08-19-2012 10:43 PM

DMC will have at least 1 TD in week one.

Based on the history of Matt Cassel offenses...based on the history of Brian Daboll offenses...Dexter will be on the field for 10 snaps a game.

You know how many snaps Miami's 4th WR got last season?

155.

I bet it comes when we're down by 28 points.

DMC is king of the garbage time.

Dexter was on the field for 400 snaps in 2010 and got 36 targets. LMAO

He's a little worthless runt.

48 targets for the year, ~63% rate = 30 catches. At his current 11.3 average thats 339 yards.

Personally I think he'll get more than 3 targets a game because Cassel looks for him and when his #1 target isn't wide the **** open, McCluster will be his 2nd look. And I'm using a WR's catch per target %. He'll probably have a bit higher % than 63% because of where he'll be on the field.

How many targets does he have so far in preseason? He's got 6 catches.

I doubt very seriously his catch rate would be around 63 percent.

I doubt even more that his YPC is over 10.

I'm thinking he's probably a guy who has about 25 catches for 250 yards. Maybe even less.

What's his % so far this pre season?

An irrelevant number for sure.

In 2010 it was 58%.
