Why should he? He's an average QB but he is a smart guy. He knows this is his last chance. Time to try and stand up for himself. It's just the beginning for this team. RAC and Pioli will be doing the same in couple more weeks.

Great qbs stand in the pocket and deliver that pass. .

Deliver what pass? It doesn't look like he was in the process of throwing the ball to anyone.

Alex Smith is ten times the quarterback Cassel is.

:(

Has anyone noticed that the whole time Cassel has been here it seems that he never has the support of anyone but Scotty? Even on TD celebrations, no one is ever running up to him to celebrate. He always tries some high five that fails, or some gay ass leaping body bump that fails. I want a team that supports and is behind it's QB. Is that too much to ask?

Almost all the good teams in the NFL have a head coach and QB that are at the very least on the same page. With Cassel, I'm not even sure that Haley and/or Crennel WANT HIM TO BE THE STARTING QB. How is that supposed to work out for us? You think Crennel would rather have Cassel in there than his asspal Brady Quinn?

Nice suit... John Phillips, London.

I have two myself.

This team plays deflated once we get behind because they have NO FAITH that our quarterback will bring us back.

I think Pioli and Cassel both need to be shown the door ASAP.

I said this when Haley got the boot.

I don't know that he was ever that good, but this goes to coaching too. Instead of trying to stick it up the middle, we should spread the formation. Instead of trying to keep Cassel in a pocket that this line can't maintain, try rolling him out now and then.

We do absolutely nothing, on either side of the ball, to keep the opposition guessing.

I didn't watch the game to "grade out" every player at every position, but there were enough plays to see that DJ is killing the defense by just guessing on plays (and guessing wrong). Eric Berry can't bring opponents down even when he's jumped on their back. Charles and Hillis can't get into the open field because they're being asked to run into the back of our weak ass line.

Personally, this is more of a coaching issue then a talent issue. Romeo is quickly proving that he's every bit the coach that Cassel is the QB -- he just can't win when it matters.

He can't move and think at the same time.

Then Romeo shouldn't have taken the job. He tied his horse to this hitch the second he accepted damaged goods at the top. Now he's screwed because he's never going to get a third shot (though I think the jury's in on whether he was ever deserving of a second).

The problem with the lines sucking will not get better until we get talent.

They don't get to practice against nfl except on sundays. Our d lineman are garbage, our olineman do not get the work they need to get better. Then you have to protect cassel who wilts himself just as much if not more and blames everyone but himself.

Man, it has sucked to be a chiefs fan for decades now. Next stop is barkley casselesque period for the chiefs.

All the more evidence he shouldn't be playing then. We don't have the Ravens/Bucs kind of defenses that will let someone like Dilfer/Johnson (and Cassel) succeed. The point everyone else is making about the defense deflating when we're behind is probably valid, but don't get behind to begin with then.

RINGLEADER 09-17-2012 12:18 PM

We might see Quinn next week if things get out of hand. Or in the second half of week 4 when the boos finally choke the life out of Cassel...

TEX 09-17-2012 12:30 PM

Bla...bla...bla...I keep hearing year after year that "We have to figure out somehow a way to get better." It's so old...
