If Pioli wanted him out all he had to do was tell Crennel to take him out of the game. There is no reason for an elaborate ruse.

From the Associated Press article:

''I knew I hit him hard, but I didn't think it was hard enough to take him out. I thought I hit him right in the ribs,'' Ngata said. ''Hopefully, he bounces back and gets better.''

They're making Chiefs fans out to be some kind of classless mob.

And nobody calls us a classless mob except for us.

FAX

Also deranged. Don't forget 'deranged.'

Here is today's game in a nutshell:

1. The offenses on both teams sucked.
2. The Chiefs turned the ball over 5 times, in Ravens territory.
3. Jamaal Charles rushed for up to 150 yards, but with no TD's.
4. Bowe's TD was called back because McCluster was whistled for holding.
5. Fans cheered when Cassell got hurt and apparently had Chiefs players torn on the supposed real reason they cheered.

And, I'm not joking. He looks "dazed" most of the time. Seriously.

FAX

No, he was cross-eyed. He didn't look dazed, he looked concussed.

And for everybody suggesting that he wasn't hit hard enough, it's pretty obvious his head snapped back and hit the ground.

He's legitimately hurt. And it's a shame.

Because now they have an excuse to bring him back. AGAIN.

Ten Things About Today's Game

10. This morning when I woke up, I had this weird feeling. Its the same feeling I have on mornings when I wake up and have to go to the dentist.
It's a real damn shame that going to Chiefs game should feel this way-same way I feel when I play golf with certain guys in my large group who do nothing but piss and moan about everything. It ruins my day off after a long hard week of work when all I want to do is relax and have fun.

9. First let me say, the Ravens were horrible today.
They sure were with so many dropped passes but I also have to give some props to our D who hung in despite the awful job of our offense and Mr Cassel.

8. Let's talk about offense first.
To me they look sloppy and disinterested because every drive ends the same way, in total failure! To be the only team in the NFL with 20 or so games in a row without a TD on the opening drive is a complete farce!

7. Major props to the defense today holding Baltimore to nine points and no TDs.
Justin Houston was a great pick and looks like he will be something special. Berry still looks like he has lost a step from his injury but overall our D came to play at a real high level. I saw Poe push back two lineman several times and tie them up.

6. Special teams were good today as well.
We have improved a lot since the first two games and that's a good thing for once.

5. The more I watch Kung Pao Panda as a head coach, the less I think of him.
The punt from BALTIMORE's 40 yd line with 12 seconds left in the half may be one of the worst coaches moves I've ever seen and they are still so slow at getting plays in. Time management also sucks

4. I think the pressure has finally gotten to Matty. He has regressed, a lot.
You would think it was impossible for him to get worse but he has. Everyone sees it but the Chiefs organization.

3. I'd also like to address the blow up that Winston had in the locker room after the game, saying that fans were "Cheering Cassel getting hurt." Well, that is about 98% bullshit.
The fact that Winston is so quick to think that the entire stadium was cherring Matt's injury shows you how sensitive everyone is with Cassel and the entire team knows we all think he sucks! I knew it was overblown bullshit from a frustrated lineman who should be APOLOGIZING TO US for the teams shitty play!

2. Many times in these ten things I've talked about the Chiefs in the 1980's under Bill Kenney. This game could have easily been 1983. So if you're a young guy, and want to know what it was like to be a Chiefs fan 25 years ago, today was it, baby.
I remember those games well and it was a painful time as a young Chiefs fan. All my friends liked the Cowboys and all they did were win, win, and win including playoffs and Superbowls.

1. Stick a fork in it. Look on the bright side; we won't have to spend any Christmas money on playoff tickets this year.
It's a terrible shame with all the talent on this team that Matt Cassel and some bad coaching has destroyed this season already. I think this will be a 4-12 or 5-11 year at best and that is a God damn shameful disgrace!!!

As always George, a great, thoughtful, and thorough review!!!

None.

3 for 3 and no receiver injuries is a good start

As always...thanks George. In recent weeks, i look forward to your "10 things" more than i do the actual game itself.

And...i have a dentist appointment today. Damn.

Typical Chiefs play from our opponets 30yard line 3rd and 15, draw play. It's predictable from my lazy chair. Shows no confidence in the QB what so ever. I'm tired of our fan base being treated like and idiots insulting our intelligence. We all see what the problem is and that is Cassell yet our GM wants to out smart 80,000+ fans and keep that assell in there.

boogblaster 10-08-2012 08:55 AM

bout all one can say ... its a process ....

wilas101 10-08-2012 09:00 AM

I was in section 110 and there were vendors up and down the aisle all day. beer guys, cotton candy guy, 5 dollar hot chocolate guy, 10 dollar hot chocolate guy.

I never did figure out if 10 dollar hot chocolate guy had some schnapps or something in his or if he was just taking advantage of the people sitting in the shady areas.

MahiMike 10-08-2012 09:33 AM

Teams faking injuries to bench their starting QB is nothing new. It happens several times a year actually. This is the most politically-correct way to bench a QB now.

I'd also like to point out a more depressing tidbit in the OP

we are technically in YEAR 4. You mentioned "The next year, we got Casshole/Pioli, which is where we are now three years in" We are actually 4 years in with Casshole/Pioli...

09 draft- The Tyson Jackson debacle... did Todd Haley truly want this guy or was this the early workings of our true coach behind the curtain... Pioli? Year 1 ladies and gets

10 draft - Midgets and trading up for a brokedick TE instead of taking Jimmy Graham. Or drafting any talent really. Year 2.

11 draft - Hey I think we got a good player out of this that fell to our laps in the 3rd. Thats kind of neat. Year 3

12 draft - Another D-lineman. Joy. Oh and more o-lineman, dont take a flyer in the 3rd round on a QB or anything, that would be to risky coach Pioli. Year 4 aka present season.

This is stupid. I'm no big fan of Pioli, for sure. But if you're going to point out his mistakes then you must point out his successes. Houston is not a fell into our laps pick. You have to give credit for us taking the chance when nobody else in the league was willing to do that. Also, I think Arenas is a solid nickel. Add in Powe in the 7th rd and Kendrick Lewis in the 6th. Not every pick in our drafts have been bad. At least give credit where credit is due.

Even the picks that I think could/would be good players have to have a decent qb to get them the ball.

Guys like Baldwin, Moeaki, Dexter etc have some talent, but whats the point of having guys like that when you are gonna throw it 4 times per game?

See that's just it. I think a lot of our offensive picks are better than they have shown. They just need a good QB to get them the ball. Blast Pioli all you want for sticking with Cassel. He definitely deserves it for that. And blast him for not wanting to draft a QB in the first couple rounds in the draft. I agree that he should be ripped for that. But not all of his picks have been bad.
