F'in awesome. Loved it. Wife? Not so much lol she didn't like that much gore haha

I saw it tonight, it was good, not great, but good. It was pretty relentless when possessions started to go down. I have gripes that I would with any horror movie that didn't quite make sense in certain areas, but you have to suspend belief with most horror films to truly enjoy them. I personally think the original was just goofy. I'm sure if I would've seen it in the 80s or 90s I might have been a bit freaked out but its just so campy. This is a very good re-imagining of the first movie; brought forth with todays effects, gore, and action. The only scary things about this movie are those jump moments, where the theater turns up the volume that its almost impossible not to jump. Overall I'd give it a 7/10.

havent read this whole thread but for those that have seen it already is it worth seeing in theaters? I haven't seen a good horror film in a looong time.

It was good. My buddy loved it. But he gets scared easily.
It is worth seeing in a full theatre. Decently acted.

I want to see purge after the previews. I have been wanting that day for years.

Hated the dumb brother. Didn't care about the other characters. Felt like the sister while possessed was too much like the Exorcist demon. Didn't care for the ending at all. Felt like most of the good parts were in the trailer. Also, I would swear my theater was edited like crazy. Not sure how it was for everyone else, but the tongue scene and some others seemed tame compared to the red band trailer I saw. In the end, that doesn't really matter though. I just thought it was a pretty forgettable movie. I'm a huge fan of the originals too. I was pretty disappointed.

Also I don't know how to cloak spoilers, but there was a part towards the end that I laughed at because it was so silly. It seemed like it would have fit better with the originals than this one. It had to do with something the brother did to his sister...I'm sure you know what I mean.

So I got my other friend to record it. I wound up having Sunday off so I asked him to get it since it was my friend's first day back. I love that you can see the part in bold. ROFL

Hmmm. I was actually testing something out, and thought I had erased that post.

I get the feeling that the sequel have a new lead, because this one was rather weak but the end was groovy though.
