Kansas City has the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft for the first time in franchise history
What about Buck Buchanan in 1963?

That would have been in the AFL.

My understanding is he wanted out of his contract if they weren't going to fire him. He wasn't happy with the GM out there, and wasn't making the personnel decisions like he used too. Can you confirm that?

Correct.

They've never had the #1 pick in the NFL draft.

Why? Why Shurmur as OC? What has he ever done? Has he EVER coordinated a successful offense?

He was doing a helluva a job with rookie Qb named Sam bradford. League took notice and Holmgren hire as the cleveland browns coach. Since then Bradfords play has declined, even when Mcdaniels took over OC duty.

I like the use of "Scott 'Team Killer' Pioli."

Good luck getting that next gig there, Scotty.

I thought Bradford bounced back this year. He still doesn't look like he has a ton of upside though. Not as much as you would have expected from a #1 pick.

So has anybody else heard more about Heckert?

I figured it was a repost when I posted it last night but it generated like zero discussion.

So is the plan to get both Heckert AND Dorsey?

Not necessarily.

All I saw last night was that Heckert had cancelled his meeting with the Jets.

Was wondering if anybody had heard any speculation as to why.

EDIT: A lot of speculation is that we are trying to get both, though. Yes.

Tom Gamble is reportedly going to get the Jets job. Makes sense that Heckert is looking elsewhere

Funny because it was posted several times in the other thread. I just figured you were posting it here to be funny.

No, the other thread is a ****ing nightmare. And I didn't dare use the Search function considering how bitchy the server was being yesterday.
