I can't believe he got more than 2.

I can. He plays for the Chiefs...

I might give one if it said "Oakland Raiders".

Well no, I wouldn't really.

Bowe was last year. Wasn't Hali out 1 game the year before that?

No - 3 out of 4.
Hali was out against Atlanta in 2012. Last year it was Bowe. Though none missed 3 games.

Looks like that would be painful on the spine. Does that say Oakland?

He's from Oakland.

Hali had a pick 6 in week 1 of the 2013 season, IIRC.

Like I said (you said too iirc) if houston Hali and ford don't make plays, we can't beat them

Yup, I did say that Houston, Hali and Poe need to step up against Denver. But as part of that conversation I said 'our best players need to step up and play their best in our biggest games'.

Smith is among our best players. Dipshit Clay spent an entire offseason disparaging the guy so suddenly the narrative started that he just isn't very good. After kicking ass and taking names last season folks started acknowledging 'well I guess he's adequate'. My ass, Sean Smith was a legitimately outstanding player for us last season. He was no worse than a top 10 NFL corner last season and an argument can be made that he was better than that.

I think people spent so much energy talking the guy down prior to last season that they're disregarding just how important he was. He was a great player last year and if we're going to do real damage this year, he'll need to be great again. Going into a contract year, I see no reason he wouldn't be and his loss will hurt.

Serious question: Is Uber not readily available in the KC Metro area? I recall taxi's as being fairly scarce but I'd think that with society's view towards DUI's, they'd be more available than when I lived there 22 years ago.

FTR, there were several people here that recognized Sean Smith as our best corner oftentimes during the 2013 season.

Some people are just more impressionable and Clay got his hooks in them.

Yep. I loved when we signed Sean Smith. Dude is a perfect fit for this defense.

what is the pro to overpaying him after you invest a bunch of high end draft picks at the position the last two years. Theres no reason for him to be here after this year. Hes not bad but we got potential, younger, cheaper talent waiting in the wings.

We haven't even seen Peters play and Gaines is not a sure thing either, he needs to get bigger and stronger and his sample size is awfully small because of injury, which he will continue to get banged up and inj in this league is he doesn't bulk up and get stronger, and Nelson will be a nickel/dime CB.

Smith was a top CB in the NFL last season, and can be again this season with the added front 7 help. You need top CB's in today's NFL. And this team now has one. Berry is coming back hopefully soon, which will boost this defense even more.

I want a dominating Chiefs defense. It needs to be the best defense in the league because Alex Smith won't win this team shit unless it is the best. The defense has tons of talent on it, there's no reason not to invest in the defense more and not have to worry about the secondary for years. Is a DWI all you're scared of?

Can you imagine eventually having Smith, Peters, Gaines covering xyz, Parker as a single high safety, Berry down in the box covering TE's and underneath routes along w/ DJ, and Houston, Ford, Catapano, Bailey, and Poe all unleashing hell on the QB. WTF is going to be able to pass on us?
