I have benzos. I WANT SOME GOD DAMN AMBIEN. NOT YELLING AT YOU BTW

Chiefs4TheWin 11-14-2015 09:51 PM

Smokey if you were in PA, I would give you an ambien just for alerting me to the ambien walrus. I haven't laughed so hard since the "octopus interaction idea"

I tolerate ambien well, but my doc says they are a "conservative" practice, and don't feel comfortable giving it to most patients.

I guess I'll try out the seroquel tomorrow, unless I can find someone looking to get rid of some ambien.

I gotta tell you...trying to score some ambien through Chiefs Planet members sounds pretty high level junkie shit dude.

Maybe just go down to the local park with a sign that says:

"Will suck dick for ambien."

Maybe take a few before you do...just to cloud up the input receptors.

More OCD than anything. I don't like having meds switched up on me.

So anyway - I took 25mg of seroquel about an hour and a half ago. Holy ****ing shit. Triggered a massive panic attack, and made me super hungry. Will not be taking this shit again tomorrow night.

Rhonda Rousey may have seen the Ambien walrus earlier this evening. You might ask her where it is now.

This is my problem also. I can't sleep without it, and sometimes not with it, but I wake up about 3 am and can't get back to sleep even with it. My doctor gave me Trazadone to take with it and it helps a lot. Between the two I usually sleep through the night.

Thursday I wasn't allowed to take either because I had a medical procedure yesterday with general anesthesia. I maybe got a total of 2 hours of sleep, in increments of 15 minutes scattered throughout the night. Ambien isn't perfect but it is better than going through that every night.

The insomnia comes from my rheumatoid arthritis.

When I wake up around 2 or 3, I,m afraid to take another. Too worried that one might actually knock me out for the 8 like its supposed to. Then I take a Xanex, those are good for napping. I work 10-13 hrs a day busting my ass all day.

I don't take another when I wake up at 3 either, mainly because I get up at 4:30am on weekdays. So usually I lay there trying to sleep, then about 4:15 I fall asleep just in time for the alarm to go off. :(

Well this is an incredibly disturbing thread.

splatbass: I assume that you've tried Mobic or Voltaren before moving on to sedatives?

I don't take sedatives for rheumatoid arthritis. It is an autoimmune disease and needs immunosuppressives. I take Methotrexate. I also take Prednisone and Naproxen for the inflammation. These are some serious and potentially dangerous drugs, but better than the alternative.

Then I take Ambien and Trazadone for sleep.

If you're taking Ambien so you can sleep due to your RA pain, then you're effectively taking a sedative for RA. It works via the same mechanism as benzos, and although not as long-lasting, can still cause impairment, which is why it's a CIV drug.

FWIW, Mobic and Diclofenac are NSAIDs that work better than Naproxen and, in the case of Diclofenac, demonstrate efficacy on the lipooxygenase pathway as well as the COX pathway without the immunosuppressive effects of a glucocorticoid like prednisone or the risk of diabetes, whereas Naproxen only works on the COX pathway.

I appreciate your advice, but I have the best rheumatologist in Hawaii and I trust his judgement.
