If you're taking Ambien so you can sleep due to your RA pain, then you're effectively taking a sedative for RA. It works via the same mechanism as benzos, and although not as long-lasting, can still cause impairment, which is why it's a CIV drug.
FWIW, Mobic and Diclofenac are NSAIDs that work better than Naproxen and, in the case of Diclofenac, demonstrate efficacy on the lipooxygenase pathway as well as the COX pathway without the immunosuppressive effects of a glucocorticoid like prednisone or the risk of diabetes, whereas Naproxen only works on the COX pathway.
